The Tour is almost over, I've really enjoyed it as I always do. I run an extra computer in my office w/the Eurosport feed. Other than the commercials, I enjoy the hell out of it. I like Sean Kelly's commentary just cuz he's Sean kelly, and the other guy is knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. I like all the cheesy shit, I like the Lemond stuff and am happy to see his ego is intact. I was bummed about the big names that got knocked out cuz, well, thats what they are there for and no one likes to see that. I don't care at all if Nibali's victory was/is a foregone conclusion at any point, I like bike racing and we've just had 3 weeks of it every day w/Sean Kelly talking about it! I aint gonna get jaded, I like it too much. To get in the spirit, I've been reading ETAPE by Richard Moore - and it's incredible. I have loved every story in it and I'm bummed I'm almost done, but will probably just start it over and read the stories in a different order. Anyway...

Where are all the crybabies? No one has there ass in a wad this week..
Yesterday a 4" angle grinder with a cut off wheel destroyed itself, took my shirt clean off and came within a 1/2" of tearing my weiner off. Huge vein pops out, thought for sure, "I had just done it." Pulled my pants down afraid to look. Funny thing about a cut off wheel , it cauterizes as it cuts . Huge gash, no blood ... Well,my junk survived another day. Will post that happiness on Friday.

Sorry, I've got nothing this week.

Dang. i was going to tell how I woke up and found a woman next to me with a red-handled kitchen knife in her hand, and I HATE red-handled kitchen knives. But after this gripe, everything pales. So ... it just chaps my @ss that Shimano puts these tight plastic thingies on cassettes to keep them together. How's that?

every fun, non cycling fall time event (beer festivals, multi-family camping trips, family orchard trips) coincides with the cx races I most want to do. the event free weekends are the same ones that the suckiest, furthest distance cx races are scheduled.
Grump: Unplanned off road excursion by motorcycle last Sunday. Big bruises.
And for Friday… Only bruises, able to go to work on Monday. Could have been much worse.

I don't know where in Cincinnati you live but you may want to check out the Comet in Northside for bike, motorcycles, night.

Day 5 getting up in the middle of the night. Nosewheel steering failed yesterday on the taxi into Nashville. Towed in. Three hours later no fix. Company flies in parts. We're cancelled until this morning. Get home a day late and miss at least one, possibly two rides.
I hope it's fixed when we get to the airport in about an hour. I'm ready to be done with airplanes for a few days.
La Cheeserie!
My repaired ankle that was supposed to last 5 years before needing replacement has prevented me from sleeping more than 4 hours any night this week. I'll need to get to a doctor seen if it doesn't start feeling better the only good thing is the repair has lasted 9 years.
This is so minor as to not even matter, but people who live in the US who talk about having ridden a 'metric century'...
Drives me nuts for some reason. 62 miles is nothing to sneeze at- it doesn't sound any more impressive when you convert it to 100km.
Commencing push-ups.

Got a new mattress on Sunday. Wife loves it. I can't sleep on it for shit. Feels like 1" of foam on plywood to me. At least I don't have to get up early tomorrow and go to work.
While at work, an operation that I've done a hundred times fails since the latest blockpoint release. I call in a ticket to the system illuminati, who come back today and say they got it to work. Okay... So WHY was I not able to get it to work? I can't call in tickets on every job...

Kid goes back to school on Tuesday. My days of getting up at 5:30 and riding from 6 - 8 AM are over. I'll have to get up at 4:45 AM to get in the same time/mileage.

What the heck did velobran use to glue those tubulars onto the wheels I bought from him? 30 minutes later, I am barely half way through. I'm thankful it was a slow leak and I didn't have to change it on the road. I'd have called for a pickup.
