Count me among those who didn't get out for a planned ride today. I set my alarm for 5:15, but was up at 4am with the baby and was kept busy till it was too late to get out. This on the nicest morning we'll have for the rest of the summer.

Mom needed the rest. Oh well. Minor grump this week.

My grump? My client keeps asking me to investigate the same thing that they keep breaking over and over again. It ends up being something like this: "Did you make sure the expiration date was set for some time in the future? No? Well then, that's why it is showing up as expired in the system."

So last night, in my insomniac hour, I patched a tube on my commuter. This was the one that flatted last Friday (glass) on my way home from work. I'd flatted again on Sunday (wire), and when I patched that one on Monday, it didn't hold. I've been driving to work all week. So the tube that I JUST patched last night? I picked up a roofing nail on my lunchtime ride today. Feck...

I'm back at work after a week in Italy. A week ago I was touring Italy, today I'm problem solving in a diaper plant.

But, there's more. I had a goal to make every ride in June at least 30 miles and I met it. I'm still meeting it. The local rides on Tues and Thurs are 26 miles so I have to leave early and do an additional loop to get my mileage. The local cyclists have really only ridden here, they've never done any group rides outside the county other than organized centuries. They're idiots that run lights and stop signs. I jumped in with them on Tuesday night. I had left early to get my miles and sat up on the way back until they caught me from behind. I tried to rotate through the line but no one understands how to work in a group. As soon as The Boy finishes high school, I'm out of here.

Four fucking flats in six weeks. Three on the magical tubular tires and one on a brand new tubeless tire with less than 100 miles on it. In the case of the tubeless today, of course it was the sidewall that was cut so it's trash now.
