I really like the early 90s Civic hatchbacks a lot. I picked up a 1991 Civic Si back in 2000 w/30K miles. Great car. Kept it for just over a year when I found a low mileage 1984 Rabbit GTI (my 5th Rabbit GTI).

Drove it for the first time in about two weeks this morning. I probably didn't need the low range and diff lock to run over that little bump of snow, but hey, why not?

Where' the damn heart emoticon? Those are awesome. People here don't get it. I'll see the stupid GT's or X6 all over the road though.

After 2-3 weeks in the Tesla, we now have a study in contrasts. What a hoot!

    I drove that Fiesta ST:

    1) Wanted to like it
    2) Kind of hated it
    3) Judging from his Jeff Gordon-victim-like reaction, so did the sales guy

The Focus ST was ok but suffered from electronic diff arbitrary yo-yo corrections and fail wheel drive. Oddly enough the Fiesta torque was better managed w/o electronic nannies.

    Best cars driven lately:

    Isolationmobile: Hyundai Genesis

    175mph useless-but-for-the-track lightweight: Cayman R

It's interesting because if you just look at JUST the numbers of the Fiesta ST and our BRZ (weight, power, price) a lot lines up. But they couldn't be more different.

One is a lot of tricks designed to cover for the fwd. The other works, sorta.

One highlight of last week's summer weather in Seattle: local car geek backing his cherry NSX out of the garage @ 7am. My life is more wagon (or truck) oriented but I can live vicariously.

I've had quite a run of waves from fellow 911 drivers lately. Doesn't matter what kind. It's hard to believe that, when I started driving in 1976, I had a 2002 and EVERY BMW driver flashed their lights at one another.

That's the Prussian Princess. '85 ROW car in 33x Prussian Blue with Blue interior. This photo gives you a feel for how different the paint is in direct sunlight versus shade. Almost gunmetal at night and rich blue to violet in the sun.
