I was going to ask the same thing, isn't easier and faster to build a new frame compared to fixing this one ?

Faster almost, but from what I understand this frame was kinda like a family heirloom to him. So replacing it with a new one would have added even more grief for the entire situation. Honestly I'm happy he trusted my skills to do the repair and now his prized possession is back on the road. Everybody wins! See you again at Baller's?
