ITIL training. Three days of mind numbing boredom. Hundreds of slides, organizing everything I already know how to do into uber-anal minutiae. I learned nothing, except that I have no use whatsoever for ITIL. And the only person I have to blame for this is myself.

    Never again.

Company holiday party last night got a little out of hand. Changing the name from Cycle Club to Psycho Club.

Imperial Works event tonight. And we just got our liquor license.

    Good grief.

Well, i wasn't sure if i was going to make it home in time to complain.

So, i leave out for Montgomery, AL to do a favor for the inlaws. Everything smooth on the way down, turn around and head home.

About 3 hours from home, a semi in front of me has a blowout. I run over a piece of the tire, and it tears the entire fucking gas tank off of my F250. 35 gallons of fuel blasting out of the truck. I limp a mile to the next exit, and what do you know, a Ford dealership. Great! These guys will surely help. Wrong...

I pull into the lot pouring fuel all over, "whats the problem?", well he was the mechanic/service writer, surely he could notice.

Tells me they will have to order a tank, takes 2 days. How much? I ask.. $2100 plus $600 to put it on.. I grew up in the car business, i used to mechanic thru school. That shit is robbery, and i lost my lid. Blew up! Told him i would set my truck on fire before i let them do that.

He has the courtesy to introduce me to a salesman.. Salesman spends 2 hours trying to sell me a new truck. I play along because it is cold as shit outside and i am waiting for Sexy Rexy to bring the car hauler from home. Guy tells me i can get a great deal on a new truck, and since it is going to cost so much to fix mine, they would do me the favor of taking it in on trade. Low lifes.. I have known 100 guys just like this turd, but yet again its cold.

I did drive a bunch of new trucks, kept picking them apart and asking why i would want another Ford if they are so expensive to fix.?

Got home about 2:00 this morning, ordered a new tank this morning $470!!!! WTF? I am getting grumpy again, want to go back down there and take a shit on the service desk.

Headed off to a legally required public meeting, for which no one will show up. We'll sit in an empty conference room and then head home when the boss finally calls it, 3 hours later. I've lobbied for an on-line alternative, but Nooooooo.

lawyers who think they can send me ominous letters in an attempt to get me to turn over confidential medical information. Sometimes this involves big scary legal words.
oh yes sir, I'll send you the entire file ASAP because, well, you asked and you're a lawyer.
I can't believe this ever works but apparently it must.*

Not so much grump in my life but my mom's. In the last 2 weeks she has been diagnosed with lymphoma, had the outer casing of her lung puncture during what should be a routine procedure, received her 1st round of Chemo, had her main sewer drain line back up and today her water supply line seems to be busted under her driveway.

if you've ever really had a yard sale, especially in powder, I think it's pretty descriptive. I've had some pretty crazy falls, but only one could be described properly as a yard sale, was retrieving equipment for probly 15 minutes because it was steep. Fortunately the powder wasn't too deep. Friends making fun of me the whole time. "Epic" OTOH, is just a word people use when they mean "stupid."

My grump is that it's the end of the work day on Thursday already. Wow.

Insurance company totaled my car yesterday (I got sandwiched between two SUVs) and today I got to put down my cat of fourteen years.

I'm keeping the car and fixing it myself because there's no way I can replace it with an equivalent for what insurance will pay out. Sucks that I have to pay out of pocket to fix my own car even though I'm not at fault.

Can't replace that cat. He was the coolest cat ever.

I met Honus in real life yesterday, I'm bummed I could only hang out for 45 minutes before going back to work!

Sorry about the car and your kittie bro.

Need to get this off my chest, venting, sharing, whatever... I'm a day late so I'll push.

My 17 year old son, with an excellenct driving record up to this point, loses control of his truck on the ice and ends up in a frozen pond. Truck breaks ice, he is able to escape unscathed, truck sinks to bottom, completely submerged. Liability only, the truck was his baby, we licensed it the monday after Thanksgiving. He had driven it just over one month. Poor kid is heartbroken, he is also terrified by the fact that this crash could have very easily been fatal.

Please hug your kids, tell them to slow down, life is hard but we push through, this too shall pass. My grump is that you can't protect them forever.

After dislocating my SC joint a week and a half ago thanks to dog on a retractable leash, I can move my arm a little better but I don't really hurt much less. Every day tasks like brushing my teeth are near impossible without searing pain. And now that the swelling has gone down a bit you can clearly see the lump in the center of my chest where my clavicle is sticking out farther than it should. My 2 week vacation for long rides and base training starts tomorrow and I'll be lucky if I can handle more than 45 minutes on a trainer. I'll see what the doctor says tomorrow morning, but unless something improves quickly I have a feeling there's still plenty of recovery ahead. The cherry on top is that I also get to deal with figuring out who pays for all the medical expenses and bike/kit damages...and I have a feeling it's going to be me.

    #Grump On#

Here is to the dizzying fog of irrational logic which leads to this:

Drive your car past my car, passing on the right hand side...you just barely avoid wrecking into another car infront of you and cut in so abruptly nearly taking my front bumper off. Apparently my dismay was sooooo insulting causing you to brake check me, pull over..roll down your window to discuss what just happened. Dewd.

    #Grump Off#

Toodles to your bad day. I've got Boxwoods to smell and a dog to walk.

they buried the lede, he removed the guy from the rear window, took him to the woods and dumped him. The initial collision was worth significant jail time, but he really should be prosecuted for the attempted 1st degree murder of hiding the guy in the woods.

What they buried were the facts. The driver hit the cyclist with his front bumper so hard the cyclist rolled over the roof and was caught in the car's rear spoiler. You do not do that if you are driving slowly.

Some idiot editor at Fox felt none of us would wonder how a cyclist would be lodged in the REAR window.

    I hate idiot editors.

Mom: He was very sickly until he started riding around on that bicycle.

Dad: Yeah... well... now his body's fine, but his mind is gone.
