there's some pretty f'ing awesome things to see out there and sometimes you get a great picture.
some of the pictures i take while riding, i frame and hang them around my pad. i probably have about 20 frames pictures around my condo from bike rides or hikes.
yes i know the pictures aren't spaced perfectly but i'm tired and i'm sipping tequila. a few new pictures from hiking and riding this summer.
i'm scared shitless of those f'ing things but it's sorta cool
I've seen hundreds over 25 years of riding out here. I don't know anyone and haven't heard of anyone who got bitten while riding. We're in their house. The wildlife is a huge part of why I get out on the mountain bike.
Oh, a few mammals too. Took this from a viewing blind in our state park. I rode to the blind after finishing my planned ride to push my mileage over the next number with a zero. Totally random that I stopped at the end of that ride, but glad I did. I've seen a few over the years, but this was the only one I've ever gotten a picture of.
If you are into printing photos for wall hanging, check out Canvas Pop. Pretty cool alternative to a flat print, though. They tend to print a tad dark, so lightening up your photo a bit in Picasa or Lightroom is a good idea.
They have coupon codes out the wazoo too, so it's really no more $$$ than a quality print plus frame.
I give them as gifts and have a couple on my office wall (I need to remember what the outdoors looks like when I'm knee deep in lease document) which I will try and remember to post here on Monday.
I wasn't riding but elk hunting when I found this. It qualifies as cool. With compromised vision I think shape stands out more to me now than detail. I saw it from a hundred feet away and knew instantly what it was. For those that don't, its a spike Roosevelt elk skull.
It just seemed like a real life Bev Doolittle. At some point I think i'll use the fed-ex poster dealie on line and have a print made of it.
if anyone else is interested lemme know and i'll send you the iphone original in all it's splendor :-)
edit; I just re-read robin3mj's post. thanks for the tip, i'll check that out!
I've seen Darren's photos-they're all over the place. Nice vibe in there and it must be great to remember those moments on a daily basis. I have a few framed from days gone by but nothing that I blew up that big. Makes me want to put a few up myself.
