That's how I was taught, by Willie Bell who built frames for Rattrays after working in the shipyards. Now I'm lazy and use a jig.

I think it might help with learning about heat control and brazing sequences, when you can see the free ends of the tube waving about as you braze the joint.

I learned a lot about fabracating and fixturing with common devices when i first built. The floor was our drafting board. A vice and the work bench was the jig base for forks and rear ends. I still have many of the little gizmos i made to do small jobs from back then. Andy.
