In n Out is using tvp-ed micro patties now with horrid fixings.

My little hound would rather scavenge for the enormous cat shiite in our yard -- protein powder for the quad peds. Girl had a chest like Superman.

I don't say this as an earthy-crunchy know-it-all. I say this as someone whose disposal caused a massive backup in the main sewer pipe in my basement (the one that ties into the street) the day before the closing (we were selling the house at the time). Good times.

Ah, the memories of me bringing plastic trash can after plastic trash can full of unmentionable slurry up a flight of stairs, through my kitchen and living room, out the back door, and dumping it in the backyard. And the memories of frantically trying to get the smell out of the house in a damn hurry.

You haven't lived until you've sawzalled through clogged pipe and been sprayed with that smell and covered with tentacalled mini single cells.

Believe me, reality > PC.

Disposer are great for the tiny scraps that are missed when cleaning out a sink for compost. There's always a little loose ends that are much easier just to wash down. I would never put a lot of stuff down one. I just installed a Badger 1/2 horse, my second one, the first lasted well more than ten years.

IMO garbage disposals are an inherently awful idea regardless of brand, cost, or design. Septic or sewer, food is murderous on any system and was not meant to go down a drain. Eventually, you will get an unbelievably awful, unspeakable stoppage.

Compost, or throw away. Really, what's the argument against?

Take it from me, this is the best answer. I spend too much of my time maintaining drains in the various buildings on campus.

BTW, I spent 12hrs yesterday (long story, don't get me started) installing one of these 3-phase units in the cafeteria. Damn-thing is a hauss!
