I did my FNL comments on Thursday, so here's my grump on Friday. It's been a rough week. We're still having issues with the house we're trying to buy. Work has been insane and I haven't been able to do my fair share helping my wife with everything. The week finally ends and I'm relieved to have a night to relax. I come home to this.

The last time this happened it cost me thousands in repairs. F me.

If I had known your house looked like this, I would have told you to stopped by my place on the way home to share a Growler w/ me. Hope that drains up quickly.

Another airport complaint... Shit being stolen out of my checked bag that I paid for to come home with me. Can't carry on every so called valuable. Some things can't even be carried on. Then the airline tells me don't leave valuables on your bags.

Someone/somehow broke the rear window in the cap on my truck. Cap company wants $600 for a new window. I contact a local family owned glass place and they replace it for $100.

But I get it back and the seals are just popping out everywhere. So I bring it back.

Now they clearly used a screwdriver to just jam it back in, in the process scratching the shit out of the window.

Dropped it off again this morning, the owner said he'd take care of it right today.. I would have paid more if I new it would take 3 trips to the place.

You get what you pay for.

Mom had hip replacement surgery on Tuesday. Sister is heading out of town tomorrow. That leaves me and my wife to be taxi/moral support for my mom as she transitions from the hospital to the rehab house. She can be a bit unbearable when there ISN'T much going on. I hope I never get "that" old.

I haven't even turned my computer at home on since Sunday. I need to post reviews of my bike... Blog has been too silent.

I needed to trade shifts so I could have Friday off. It sucks to miss the holiday pay (flag day!) but I have had plans for this weekend for a long time. I got sent to work somewhere that is normally OK but this boss is a PITA. Some people can take an awesome job and make bad. We've dealt with all the little bureaucratic nonsense but none of the important stuff. The boss has a bad reputation but I came in with an open mind. It is going to be a long day.

Not having had words with the guy riding north on 146 last night that to go straight through the River Road stop light performed the act from the shoulder, which does not work well when there is a right hand turn lane. The driver of the SUV on his back wheel expected him to turn right and was ready to simply follow around the corner. The rider cut off the car, which fortunately stopped short, and then looked back and gave the hand down palm back signal. I would have had to make a couple stupid and possibly illegal moves myself to continue straight and catch him so I simply turned right as intended and kept on my way. I should have turned after it was clear and gone back to catch him. That guy needed to be taught a lesson the easy way. The thing that bothers me most, though, is that dork makes life difficult for the rest of us.

But he did have a blinking taillight so I guess he was entitled to do whatever he felt like. He was Safety Minded.

ha, that reminds me: there's a guy here who rides some sort of old blue mountain bike. Every time I see him he's wearing a reflective strap thing over his torso, and every time I see him he's blowing stop signs and red lights, even in rush hour traffic. Guy makes the rest of us look like jerks, and he doesn't seem to have any sense of responsibility about it. Worse, I can never catch up to him because I stop at the signals he just blows through. grump grump cont'd.

Unfortunately, I had to have this talk with my dad a few weeks ago. We came to a three way stop and he just planned to go straight through, ignoring the street on our right. Meanwhile, a car was already turning left across his path from that right side street, but it had been obscured by tall grass until we got to the stop sign. He stopped short and was pissed at the car. I told him, we have to obey the rules too, at least slow down to make sure it's clear and not blasting through such an intersection.

Do I get two in a day? It's been raining for some time - as in days, measured in significant fractions of feet. That's caused a leak in my south facing wall around a window. The leak is coming from behind aluminum siding up the second floor. Siding removal (top down, I suspect, it's a beast working upwards with that stuff, I understand), source identification and possibly major repairs I can see in the near future. Ah, well, at least I have a house. Maybe I should shut up. Never mind.

Delivery van guy looks me in the eye, right hooks me. Words. He admitted to trying to kill me after I held the dangling carrot in front of him.
    Cop. Witnesses. Case number.

Nothing will happen if course, but now his name is in the system so the DA has a trail when he actually kills someone.

    Happy Thursday everyone!

I'm always good for a grump. 3 classes, 2 labs, full time work, a slew of family coming to stay in a loft apartment with one bed and toilet. But, I'm not feeling grumpy

Last weekend was the only decent two-day stretch of weather in the Northeast and I missed it due to some travel. A short ride yesterday marks the one ride I've had in a seven day span thanks to the unrelenting rain. Promises were made that the rain wouldn't start today until the afternoon, so I kit up at about 9 am (in lovely, overcast 50 degree weather) and the minute I head down the driveway it starts to rain.
    Farq.

Yes. I know. I could ride in the rain. shut up.

mail carrier always (for 10 years) runs between 2-3 sometimes as late as 4.

one day service to GF's house (50 miles away).

SO i stagger in from my ride in the heat yesterday around 1...

fumbling around for rehydrations and food and A/C i hear ZOOOM!

guess who blows by here a full hour early? So i hadda crawl up in the truck and drag my ass to the PO, so that GF's b-day card and such is delivered proper.
