Work. I've been averaging 8-9 hours a day of meetings for the last 3 weeks. Our big projects have release dates, but no project plans, so who knows whether it's remotely feasible. Nobody is getting real work done, and we don't have a specific plan to get the work done, but we have a commitment on when it will be done. Seems like a recipe for success.

It's still Thursday in Hawaii, so that should get me in under the gun for pushups. But if I must, I will eek out a couple as penance.

OK, I've been saving this for a week so I must loose the fester. I was flying back from a lovely vacation and wasn't quite ready to be harshed.

First: when did filthy ball caps become a fashion accoutrement? The young man directly in front of me was wearing what started as a powder blue cap with a white brim. It had now a greasy off-brown mixed with blue crown and a grey and white brim. You really need to wear that, dude? I bet you use fancy shampoo, too.

Second: I do believe the term used is "carry on luggage". If you have to drag it by the handle and it rolls it really isn't carry on, now is it? It's "roll on luggage". I understand, because if you can manage to wrestle it down the ramp through the aisle and ram it into the overhead compartment, sometimes requiring the assistance of your fellow passengers, you save the $25 fee for checking it. What chaps my ass is the rubes like me that check the bag smaller than what you're dragging on the craft and carry on a small pack with the stuff that's not suitable for checking end up being told to put it under the seat in front of me and it's my problem to figure out where my legs go. No problem, by hour one of my four hour flight I won't be able to feel anything below my knees. It'll be OK. Meanwhile Mr. Steamer Trunk With Wheels is stretching out comfortably. Is not equitable, I say. If its got wheels, you don't get to bring it on. Problem solved.

And, when, exactly, did wearing a ball cap (or any other hat) while indoors (for men, at least) - especially in a (better quality) restaurant - become acceptable? I'm always amazed when I see some 23-year old doofus wearing a disgusting shredded hat eating in a restaurant, especially when he's with an older (male) family member who most likely has an automatic response himself to take his hat off the moment he walks through the threshold.

My dad accomplished my indoor de-hatting with a smooth flicking motion when I was a teenager.

(he also handed down my penchant for telling kids to get off my damn lawn, but that's another grump.)

I like your windstopper material- it really seems to work. Your products also seem to be made of high quality materials. Your sizing seems a bit unrealistic, but hey, I'm a fat American so that's on me (although at 10.5 I don't think my feet are really "fat").

But, your zippers are absolute crap. Total and complete garbage well below the quality of the cheapest east Asian junk you find in the dollar bin at Walmart. The ones on my otherwise very nice winter booties lasted all of 3 rides. The one on my wind jacket lasted longer, but then it is under less stress- now about half the time it upzips itself from the bottom.

1. Where the hell is spring? 15f this am. This week last year it was 50 degrees warmer.

2. It never gets dark anymore. Walking the dog before sunrise, and the neighborhood is a cacophony of light. Porch lights left one, restaurants who never turn their lights off, blinking GPS and other crap on car dashboards, standby lights for everything that plugs in, etc. Hell, the done-ness dials on my toaster stay lit all the time.

The fact that I am sick. My head feels like it is going to explode at any moment. Missed our first Wednesday night worlds since the time change. Sucks. Gonna miss a nice recovery ride today...or am I. I think I will spin easy later this morning. At least I can watch some racing over in Spain...Volta Catalunya live on Eurosport with a quality feed.

I have a natural gas leak in front of my house and have yet been able to get the company to fix said leak. It's been over a month and two visits by an inspector who confirmed and located the leak. I'm of the opinion that leaks only get worse. Tapping the dial today to call up local, state and federal elected somethings. I'm sort of amused. The leak is far enough from the house though Mr/Ms. Postman may not be happy.

Of course the answer isn't pay me more money...it's hire two other people. I understand why but it seems unfair.

They are putting a new floor on my office building, right above us. The banging and thumping is annoying, not to mention the occasional building shake... but what really chafes my taint is that the overweight nerds I work with are always hot because you know, they are unhealthy. So what do they do, open the windows and put fans in them.

Well now we get the smell of diesel and noise of the fork lift crane thing all fucking down. Oh and you know what else? The cigarette smoke of the restaurant workers and construction guys.... all god damn day,

Ordering tubes from a supplier on Sunday night, its a big rush so I pop about $50 for the 'Super Rush 2 day delivery'. Then finding out they didn't leave the suppliers building until Wednesday night......
