and Cannon Mountain is effing cold and wholly devoid of snow, as it all blows away to somewhere else, leaving the permanent ice and rock core behind.

very true. keeps the crowds down and breeds skiers like Bode!! cannon is where i learned to go very very fast on skis and get comfy w/big speed. it translated to cycling, well descending anyway, in later years. there is nothing like doing mach 2 on steep ice. those days are mostly over for me, lest you get confused!

Many days there myself back in the 70s. Bad memories of being stuck on the old peabody chair (the green one) over the snowmaking. Good times.

...actually, I'm a huge fan, especially the aesthetics - I love the engine/wing interface.

    Apologies for the thread derail.
i'm not so sure this is a derail, after all i too would not prefer arriving at my posh ski weekend in balsawood crap designed by brits. assuming each can be made with a second trainer style seat in the back and ski racks, i'd go:

    - english electric lightning
    - f-100 supersabre
    - f-101 voodoo
    - f-106 delta dart
    - crusader

i'm a fan of american metal back from when speed killed. good stuff!

It's amazing that someone would care that much about not caring that they would bother to say it in a bumper sticker.

It's amazing how bitter the fight is - MRG is one of the three ski areas in the US that doesn't allow snowboarding (Alta & Deer Valley are the others).
