Man, I love old graphic design stuff, old tools, etc. Everything just looks so solid and built to last. Old electronic test equipment and audio gear from the age of tubes as well. I've got one of these and it's gorgeous
Sorry to stray offtopic. Hopefully someone snagged the AvJet and is building beautiful things with it.
Is the Meco Midget from the same outfit from St. Louis?

Andy, the Meco torch now available from the supplier you indicated has a flat body (like a rounded edge package of cigarettes) with its adjuster knobs on top of the torch which are positioned like a screw in an inline derailleur adjuster. Most torches have their adjustor knobs 90 degrees to their body (which is also 90 degrees from the position of the Meco knobs). Aviator style torches have them at the top near the tip and use the smaller "A" hose fittings. Bigger torch handles have knobs at the bottom of the body and use the larger "B" fittings. Every student that has tried both always prefer the smaller torch bodies.
The new Meco torch falls into the either love it or hate it category. I've had several students who have brought one to class. I have a strong dislike for them but they loved them. So my suggestion - if one is in the market for a new torch handle - is to try the Meco handle first before buying it. I would guess a far bigger percentage of users would prefer a round handled torch like the Victor J-28 or Smith AW1A.
FYI to all those interested: I've had a bunch of requests for me to "digitize" my copy of the Meco Catalog No. 120 (Copyright 1945). I'll scan it this week and make it available via PDF download and individual images. I'll post up the links when it's ready here.
I would like a copy of that! I love my Meco Aviator Jet.
