Where in Poland? I know a lot of riders near Warsaw. Hopefully your in-laws are near the mountains though, haha.

Re: euro training ruined
Nice hills to the West of Krakow but I've never ridden. I have some routes that I planned on if I had time. I have ridden in the southern mountains (where the Tour de Pologne has its mountain stage) and it is pretty nice.
Riding with aunt & friends near Warsaw. I think the FDJ-kit guy coached the youth national team or something like that:

Weather getting apocalyptic (wind and thunderstorm) for the final lap around the mountainous circuit. That's the one Bauke Mollema won in 2010. On the way back from the race I descended a number of large hills in pouring rain on shitty eastern european roads with awful canti brakes while team cars zipped by on the way to their hotels. Good times!:

PS yes that banner does say Sylwester Szmyd fan club.

Re: euro training ruined
Those pics cover it pretty well....I'm riding again tomorrow, I'll bring a camera. I won't be able to post until I get back to NY.
If you're visiting krakow, Wieliczka is a must visit........centuries old salt mines filled with sculptures and grand ball rooms carved into the caverns.

Re: euro training ruined
Man I love Poland. Haven't been there for... thirty seven years.
I'm sure it has modernized. That would of course be too bad.
I loved the country, the scenery, and the people. Wonderful place.

Re: euro training ruined
One of the things I love about being in Poland is that, yes it is modernized, but it still retains all of its old charms. In fact, with the improved economy over the last 10/15 years there has been a lot of restoration. Krakow is beautiful.....but I enjoy the little towns out in the country. Warsaw is a modern city like any other........I havn't spent any time there

That's funny. I just picked my parents up from the airport... after a 3 hour delay. They were at a wedding.
