Anyone ever see that famous night time aerial shot of Asia? That black spot within the sea of light in the shape of North Korea is North Korea. That's one way to go green; have no power and starve your imprisoned population to death.

The VICE videos about North Korea are jaw dropping in a way.

Other than wondering how hard it must be to brainwash your people into thinking how great you are as a leader I couldn't help thinking how perfect those roads would be for riding - no cars to be seen.

I actually found the Vice video a little too 'merican, but I only watched the first few minutes of hipster dude making fun of another culture and talking about how daaaaaangerous his visit to the museum is. I found this BBC documentary from 2004 to be pretty interesting: Instant Watch Database - A State of Mind

I had the same reaction initiallly but watched it all anyway. Pretty amazing, you might give it another chance.

Well I didn't give it a first chance ;) I'm sure I'll get around to it. Footage from that place fascinates me.
