Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Late to the party here.
Started at 237 5 weeks ago, 220.5 today
Mostly vegan, small meals often, slow and steady, looking for 190
I'm a big guy, don't have the ability to measure body fat but started at 24%. I'll no more about what a real racing weight is for me when I hit 200.

Yes, but it's relative as the scales are all over the place. Mine is probably around 11% with an accurate measuring device.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Ok I have tossed my hat in......
Not proud about this and honestly a little ashamed.
Got back from the doc. doc says bp is prehypertension levels plus Pulse is higher than I thought, 80's. Any tricks of the trade for lowering RHR that are not 30 minutes aerobic 3x a week?
Plan on correcting it. Bought me a % body fat / scale. Cycling has always been about fun for me had some nature talent and a winners instinct. Nurture has over taken nature. Gonna focus I little more on health.
Anyway i am throwing in my dailies and would appreciate the encouragement and friendly lampooning.
Height: 6'1
182 20%
College and racing numbers 6'1 140 5% once scored a -1% on body fat

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Welcome! Glad you're giving it a go. The weight part will be pretty quick for you, but be patient with the HR. Mine is 45 these days but used to be low 30's. As you get fitter your heart muscle will get stronger and bigger (takes time though) and the stroke volume will increase, that's what lowers the RHR.
