Alignment table
Hi folks!
I'm new to this portion of VSalon. Some would say new to the forum period:). I'm just not a big poster on any forum.
I'm in process of gathering the tools to start building my own frames and would like some advice on alignment tables. Since I sell cuttings to hundreds of machine shops in NC & SC I'm sure I can get one built. Can you point me to any plans I can use for the design? I'll even consider buying new or used but not sure what's available. Any help is appreciated.

I cant help with drawings, but I do have two Flickr galleries of other builders photos that might be helpful:

Re: Alignment table
FWIW, if making from steel (even if over 1" thick) I would suggest incorporating into your table several leveling jacks (say every 18-24") integrated into the base, which can be used to level/flatten the top. I don't strictly mean to level it in the traditional sense, but rather to counteract sag, and be able to "take up" the sag that will occur.

Re: Alignment table
I PMed, this. I have my account square away. Thanks Mods. I am real happy with the milling table I have for this purpose. I use some machinisty methods to get the measurements, but I will finish my tower eventually.

Re: Alignment table
Firefly just built one and documented it pretty well on their blog. Hit the goog and you should find it.

Re: Alignment table
I like granite. Doesn't rust, especially in the humid south. Maybe something to look into to. Good luck.
