Classic bully: starts whining when people push back.

Look, like I said above, you're probably a swell fellow. But the idea that you can't figure out that what you said was obnoxious, and that you won't just admit that you've reaped what you sowed in this thread, is pretty silly.

Also, I can't drink at the moment. I'm trying to lose a few pounds.

Actually, there's a huge scientific literature suggesting that weight is tied to genetics as well as behavior. And beyond that, the original issue wasn't being "fat" so much as waist size. And beyond even that, my point wasn't to make an ironclad analogy; my point was that people who say offensive things in internet comment threads shouldn't be surprised when others take offense.

To be totally clear: I'm not accusing jitahs of racism, antisemitism, or homophobia. I'm accusing him of yelling "fire" and then pretending that he doesn't understand why people are running for the exits.

whatsup with all the bitching? it's not that difficult to figure out

if you can tolerate pain and you're bit chunky, you'll be a strong cyclist

if you can tolerate pain and you're a skinny fuck, you'll be a stronger cyclist going up a hill

if you can't tolerate pain, you're pretty much screwed if you want to become strong cyclist

Wow, way to resurrect a dead thread fred.

I lied, you guys are too interesting.

First Earl: Sit. Stay. Good boy - here's your treat.

Second akelman: If you stay in the cheap seats and cast aspersions...you're still in the cheap seats with the hookers.

You must be a lawyer; all but the best are polemicists.

What I said ain't brain surgery: if you don't understand the premise, ask nicely or look up what posit means. I know that means typing it into Google and trying to understand the term but hey, we're just tryin to git along.

I guess the question would be along the lines of being uncomfortable because of equipment
    or
    pushing your personal limits.

I'll go ahead and do it for the stupid people. Maybe they will be able to understand your point that way.

    As written:

"I'll posit a waistline of over 34" does not make cycling an athletic endeavour.

    It becomes bike riding."

    From dictionary.com
    Posit
    1. Verb: Assume as a fact; put forward as a basis of argument.
    2. Verb: Put in position; place

Translated for stupid (and likely fat) people:
"I'll assume as a fact a waistline of over 34" does not make cycling an athletic endeavour.

    It becomes bike riding."

    Or
"I'll put in position a waistline of over 34" does not make cycling an athletic endeavour.

    It becomes bike riding."

Come on guys, even Wade should be able to understand it now.
