Default Taiwanese Frame Parts on eBay?

Maybe I missed it, but these are actually kind of interesting... This guy is selling a few new frame parts I haven't seen before.
Worth checking out I think. I found it in search of some vintage canti brakes for my wife's new bike. That seat clamp is really interesting, cable pulley mount?
Anyway, I thought I'd throw it out there!

Allotec parts- quite a bit of that stuff is available through normal distribution if you ask. I'm not a huge fan of the raw castings, but there is potential there. These guys support a lot of the bigger OEM's that build in steel (Surly, All City, Fixie, etc).

Yeah I've seen those crowns on a couple new production bikes. Not too bad looking!

Yeah, but correct me if I'm wrong, on the "biplane" crowns, the area between the upper and lower plate is actually filled in? I wonder if that's a liability thing and they can be machined out by the builder?

I have a few of the psuedo plate crowns & have plans for splitting them for a more attractive design.

Interesting relationship a designer must find himself with Chinese manufacturing. The designer needs the Chinese to produce the product, since the Chinese can hit the price point and currently have excellent quality. The designer must know on the front end, that at one point during the business relationship, the manufacturer will 'steal' key elements of the design and attempt to cut him out. The designer has few options, since we more or less abandoned domestic manufacturing, the Chinese are the nearly the only game in town.

used some of the track drops on the bike i had a nahbs. kept getting the feeling the cart was driving the horse. had to change what i did to the frame to comp for the design of some guy in taiwan. wound up looking ok, got good comments. but haven't used the other drop outs yet.
as far as the taking of designs, used to live in taiwan and still have a webster's dictionary that was copied right down to the copyright mark.

It seems like there's enough material on those twin plates to make them into something halfway attractive. As it stands, they're really effing heinous.

The thing that really caught my eye is the seat clamp. It has those arms that extend out the back that you could throw a pulley in between... Although this only would have come in handy once so far. I built my wife a step through with canti brakes, I ended up making a pulley and mount from scratch. Would have been cool to have it all one piece!

Just wondering if anyone's ordered directly from allotec? I was looking through their catalog of parts and there are a few pieces which would be nice to have around (mixte lugs, a few seat tube sleeves w/ binders, etc). - their full catalog is here: Titanium Motorcycle Parts, Titanium Car Parts, Titanium Bicycle Parts, Investment Casting, Titanium Investment Casting - Allotec Co., Ltd.
