304 for dropouts?
any concerns using 304 to make hooded/breezer/wright style dropouts instead of 17/4? the reason i ask is i have a line on some overstock 304 and why not get stainless dropouts for the price of steel ones. can't say i would ever pay for stainless drops but since they are their...
if anybody would like some PM me i can get enough material to make ~40 pair. design not limited to hooded style. could make anything out of them really

Reynolds uses 901 and 316L for their drops and 304 for lugs and fittings. Don't know why but I suspect it is because the former are more resistant to higher joining temps. You might try calling and asking.
