Default that time of year, best tunes to build by 2009

five of my favorites this year, no order:

self-destruct button - juice tiger lp (tower control)
    freedom/deathers - split 12" (tower control)
emeralds - s/t lp (wagon // gneiss things)
ducktails - landscapes lp (olde english spelling bee)
mountains - etching lp (thrill jockey)

what new stuff have you pushed through the speakers this year in the shop?

I'm probably in the minority, but I go out to the shop to get away from the noise of life.

I went to a show recently by a band called Screaming Females. Been listening to them quite a bit. Odlly only one girl in the band. She is the singer and lead guitarist and is about 5' tall at most. Great new band.

    for actual building frames?

    Sigur Ros
    Cocteau Twins

soft melodic stuff like that gives me a positive vibe during building.

    For Finish work?

    Offspring
    Rancid
    Catherine Wheel
    Clash
    The Sea and Cake
    Bad Manners
    Citizen Fish

Don- thats interesting. I'm all fire and aggression during the build, then slow it down during the finish work.

For Christmas, I got a bread book by Peter Reinhardt. In it, he writes, "Success in bread making, as in any facet of life, comes down to one word: focus."

That sentence grabbed me because, in November, I pulled the radio/CD player out of the shop after screwing up. No more multitasking for me.

The ringing and white noise inside my head is waaay to loud to work with.

As long as it's louder in the shop or office than it is inside my head, I'm cool.
