Moving month, as we helped move our daughter to a new place last weekend after seven years on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Benefits? Closer to work, quieter neighborhood, 1930's building with cool architectural elements, garage for the bike, 5 minute walk down to Lake Union and the Cheshiuahud Lake Union Loop (trail) and oh yes, several good viewpoints for her cat, Queen Genevieve. Bonus for me, three decent coffee shops and the 14 Carrot Diner, all within a 10-minute walking distance.

In the 90s, I’d walk up to the 14 Carrot from the Entercom radio building down the hill. It was the best coffee on Eastlake at the time and I needed it during my 4-noon shift. Always glad to see it still going.

Believe it not, about 20-30 minutes from waiting outside security to going inside. Apparently everyone rushes the altar as I would have done, but a local gentleman who was in line in front of us, suggested sitting in the back near the rail if we wanted to see il Papa up close...he was correct. The Mass was in Italian so I didn't understand a word anyway and the Mass was broadcast on the big screens.
