We recently replaced a Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 with a V90 CC wagon. The V90 is better in pretty much every way for regular (non offroading) usage.

And that's the thing - the overwhelming majority of SUVs or crossovers will never even see a gravel road, let alone true offroading.
