Worst play call in the history of the superbowl?
out of all the wild shit that occured in the last 45 seconds, i still don't understand why Belichick let the clock run while Seattle was setting up. is he clairvoyant?
I am the worst lifelong Pats fan everrrrrr. When they were down by 10, I said FUCK IT, read my boy a bedtime story, took a shower, kissed my daughter to sleep. Got in bed with the wife....well I gotta piss, I guess I'll check the score....HOLY SHIT!!! Now I'm drinking a beer (totally NOT re-brushing my teeth) and replying to this thread like the fucking moron that I am. YES!!! Free ball-wash to the Seahawks play caller!!
Can't say anything about it.
The fluke of fluke endings.
And, no doubt, the most obvious bad play call in the history of the NFL following up one of the most unlikely receptions in the history of the nfl.
Compelling game to watch. Good for brady.
3 games into the season they were ready to replace him.
Edelman put that hit on Lane that resulted in Lane leaving the game with a broken arm (don't look at the video or photos if u-shaped arms bother you) which in turn resulted in a manpower problem in the Seattle secondary. The Pats burned Simon, Lane's replacement, repeatedly, and that gave them enough space to stay in the game. Edelman and Vereen were great.
edelman is 100% the hero of that game. took so many hard hits and never slowed down. glad to see him get the repeat pass for a td that brady messed up initially.
also very impressed with matthews, talllll ass guy with little competition but performed well after laying low (0 receptions?) for the season.
final note: agreed. had the hawks run it...they'd have won it. dumb dumb dumb dumb choice.
The refs should have called the game a loss for both teams after that brawlon the 1 yd line.

I went to sleep after the halftime show.... I am a bad Pats fan, but, trust me, if I had watched they would have lost.
My head is spinning at that play call.... what.... I can't.... how.... wh.... gaaah.... ????
Edit: Although if it had worked, he'd be labelled a "genius."
Hindsight bias is a bitch.
I still think the encroachment penalty on Seattle was huge. Brady taking a knee on the 1-yard line likely results in a safety. I'd love to know what play they were planning to run there. Probably a Brady sneak for zero yardage, but theres a bit of a risk of getting pushed back to the end zone.
That penalty iced the game. The final few seconds of that game are among the most fascinating I've ever seen.
We know who won, we know who is the smarter coach, but both teams looked very even. That last Seattle call was stupid, but the pats still had to make that play and it wasn't an easy ball to catch.
Seattle used up most of their good luck to get past green bay.
The silly catch on the 5 yr line marked the end.
Note also that without a couple of unlikely catches in the past brady would have won 6 big games.
They would have snuck w brady at the end if they had to. Worst case... safety with 5 seconds left and one heave to defend.
But, anything could happen...as we saw.
This is not scientific but I do recognize a strong correlation between people who think the pats couldn't have possibly manipulated air pressure and those who thought another unnamed bike racer was clean. It shouldn't surprise anyone to find out that these are all pro sports. Go pats!
