    Default Computer speakers

I tried to search for a previous thread but couldn't find anything. Mine bit the dust. Small potatoes, I know but they are all over the map in price. Looking for suggestions.

How much space do you want them to take?
How loud do you need them?
Is low frequency output worth the size of having a subwoofer?

Lastly, are you handy? There are a lot of DIY options out there from places like Parts-Express that could be a fun weekend project. I could help you pick out a nice little 2 channel system from the PE website with amplifier.

    Matt,
Not handy at all. This for work use only at my little used desk.

M-Audio on the wife's desk. She hasn't complained. They are a bit large.

Klipsch was always on my "want" list.

Amazon.com: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System (Black): Electronics

I have these on my work desk:

Amazon.com: Creative Inspire T12 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System with Bass Flex Technology: Electronics

They work. Full range of sound, don't take up much space,

I plug my computer to the home hi-fi. An arcam miniblink bluetooth dac is handy to send the sound wirelessly.

    ,
I have these, they are great for what they are. But, I do the same as Thomas. The klipsch aren't even in the same realm as a 'real' speaker.
