One important difference between the US and Canada

In times of crisis the American president orders oil to be released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This was done most recently a few weeks ago, when the White House announced that 50 million barrels would be released.

In time of crisis in Canada the QMSP (Quebec Maple Syrup Producers - same things as OPEC, but for maple syrup) orders releases from their emergency reserves.

I went to a barber shop when I lived near Brantford back in the day and Walter was frequently at the back, thumbing through the stack of the Horse Racing News and the old Playboys.
