I picked this up a while back and I am pretty happy with it so far. The bracelet, while well made, just never felt right and changing to a strap made it far more comfortable for me.

I couldn't resist, many moons ago I owned this but sold it because I could not get over the fact that the 24H hand wasn't independently adjustable so for all intents and purposes it was essentially useless. The Steinhart cures that problem so IMO it's a better watch, though needless to say it doesn't command the crazy price of the 1655.

If anyone has an old watch sitting around unworn, you might want to take another look. Who knows what you have.

Watch nerd thread bump. If anyone has $11M laying around, this could be yours.

There's some pretty impressive complications going on here and it's a pretty amazing experiment in showing no restraint. You'd probably need to wear it Flavor Flav style.

I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into a piece like that, but between the price and size, it strikes me as more of a proof of concept than something anyone would ever use. Even if I had a spare $11m, I'm thinking I could put it to better use.

Oh it's definitely not designed to be worn or carried as an actual watch. It's more the ultimate collector's piece for the ultimate collection. Not a bad investment either, if you can play at that level. One sold at auction in 2009 for $5M and this one is starting at $11M just 6-7 years later.

this one is totally out of the norm for me, but have been wearing it a fair bit lately. tissot t-touch titanium. it's a great on the bike watch because the ti case is so light. i plan on subjecting it to the upcoming long weekend of cycling, surfing, kayaking and swimming. very comfortable on a nylon zulu strap too.

And I think I've talked myself into the Grand Seiko 40mm quartz with the black face. I'm such a sucker for their stuff...

Daily driver: sterile face Stowa Flieger auto on a well-used Nato band that should probably be replaced soon.

I just picked up this brand new (NOS) Marathon General Purpose Mechanical Limited Edition this week on eBay. Got it in my grubby little paws yesterday and I'm quite pleased.

I missed the boat when these first came out (limited to 600 watches) and when it came time to get a nice watch for my big decade birthday just over a year ago, I ended up getting a NOMOS Club. As much as I like the Club, I really wanted the Limited Edition because of the Benrus movement. I really dig the overall design and the fact that the movement is manually-wound, of which I prefer. The case measures 36mm, just perfect for my tiny frame. My NOMOS is also 36mm as well as my Universal Geneve (automatic) that I inherited from my grandfather some 30+ years ago. Anyway, the Marathon will be my everyday watch and I'm debating picking up a NATO strap for it at some point though my Silverfoot is very comfy and I've been using that brand for the past 15 years.

Oh, and here's a nice review on Worn & Wound on this watch.

Interested in this new one from Seiko - seems like it might be at a price I could see paying:

This one is new for me. My first lasted 26 yrs through all kinds of this and that, then it was stolen. I'm aiming at at least another 26 outta this one.

Omega isn't in the budget, and wanted something a bit more casual for dressing down/weekends. Picked up an automatic seiko SNK009 for $40 a while back, and turns out it's a gateway. Couldn't resist this turtle (looks black in the photo, but is actually blue):

How often should a daily-wear mechanical-wind Lemania-based chronograph be routinely-serviced? This is a maintenance question and not in response to any trouble with my watch....
