Another thing I like about the NSX.
This is quick and easy with the passenger seat out. And both wheels will fit in the trunk.

Love it. That's how you transport a bike in style.

I did something similar to fit my first real road bike in a 350z. Didn't have the passenger seat out though, which made things "interesting".

That takes me back to the days I had a Nissan 240sx and put a Nissan skyline 6 cylinder engine in the passenger seat to get it home for an engine swap.

no way in heck would I do that again. lol.

Went shopping for a new car to replace my wife's 3.6 4Motion Passat wagon. Not a whole lot out there like that car and we ideally wanted another AWD wagon as we have three kids. She drove the new Outback and while it was very nice she didn't love it. We ended up getting a new Touareg V6 Sport (Canyon Grey w/black interior)- last one in the state and nearly 10K off sticker. It was just too good to pass up. It certainly doesn't have the power/handling of her old car but it is very, very nice to drive and it has plenty of room for my kids, dog and camping gear.

Still have my '02 Jetta wagon 5spd with only 86K on it. My plan is too keep that car and give it to my oldest son when he's ready to drive. At that point it'll probably have around 130K on it and it'll be a great father/son project car so he can learn about car maintenance. I'll probably replace it with the new Golf SportWagen- that thing is sweet.

Now that I've seen the Golf SportWagen in person I want this even more. Probably won't make it over here, I can't afford it and I certainly don't need it but dang this thing ticks off all the boxes.

A riding buddy of mine bought the Golf R estate recently. I have yet to test drive it but he looks happy.

I took delivery on a 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI SEL w/ Manual Transmission last night.
I've been in a months-long battle with VW over the 2015 Golf TSI I purchased last year that turned into a lemon.
Hopefully this one will provide a much better ownership experience. Excellent to drive so far.

Even a US-spec GTI 'wagen would be a miracle.

Just out of curiosity, what issues did you have? Another VW would be on my short list if I were in the market for something right now. I'd love a GTD if it existed in the US. I really like my 2006 GTI but I'd love some of the newer features and I'd really love a 4-door.

The EPC light came on with regularity for 10 months and 13000 miles of driving. Several components replaced (main computer, shifter assembly, etc) and no scans could indicate where the problem was coming from. In addition the Infotainment system would periodically not turn on. The auto transmission would let off very harsh downshifts from time to time at slow speed.

It was in the shop for 20% of the time I owned it. This is a rarity and it took a good battle-- but I'm glad its over.

It came a bit stickered up (we loaned it to a static show before delivery, which paid for the "Pure Impulse World" interior option package it has), but Christian is right - this thing is kinda fun. It generally drives much more mellow than it looks.

We are going to get a Golf Sportwagen TDI later this month, hopefully in the blue-black color that reminds me of that old Sheaffer fountain pen ink color. But while in Italy, we saw plenty of these, called a Golf Plus. Sort of like a Tiguan but not an SUV. Similar to the way they bulked up the Fiat 500 - a little taller and perhaps a little longer, but mostly the seated position is more upright and there is a bit more storage space. Saw several TDI's and similar trims to the regular Golf and also looked like it came in a TDI All-Road version as a few we saw looked Subaru-ed up a bit.

Yup, just when my family grows out of cars this size.

Took my dog to the vet today and parked my 2010 TDI Sportwagen next to one of the new Golf wagons.
The new one is a smidge bigger and a smidge nicer looking.

Looks nice, but with the diesel, wagon, and awd premiums I wonder if the pricing will be in Golf R territory.

I think I'd worry if it got into Audi A3 TDI Sportback territory. That's supposedly coming out in 2016 as well.

Yeah... I wonder how many shoppers looking at fully-specced VW models end up with Audis. Maybe that's VAG's plan all along though, and they only build a handful of those top-spec VW models to begin with.
