    Default F1: 2021 Edition

Time to race! First round in Bahrain this weekend. Lots of questions will be answered.

Will Mercedes dominate again, or will Verstappen and Perez de-throne them?

Can Alonso contend in a Renault, or at his age?

    Ferrari....just mid-pack again?

Haas and Williams.....will they find speed? Can young Mick follow in his dad's footsteps?

I'm interested to see what AlphaTauri can do. Tsunoda and Gasly is potentially a fast combo.

Can't wait to see some exciting racing!

Yeah, I'm in. Hopefully we can over analyze the testing results from last weekend and project that into an interesting season!

most importantly, i love Williams livery.

Alonso's comeback from breaking his jaw seems really fast.

Anybody here interested in doing a VSalon league within F1.com's fantasy league? I've never done this before but signed up for one with my college buddies yesterday.

Have you guys watched Netflix’ Formula 1 Drive to Survive series? Excellent inside look at the machinations and inner workings of the sport. 3rd season came out recently and sets the stage for this year.

Loved all 3 seasons. I imagine the exposure is working out well for F1 too.

After last season's snooze fest, I can't wait for this year! Been a fan of F1 since I was a little kid.

Drive to win: Yes, great for attracting a new crowd, and I love the behind the curtain stuff, but I the fake drama -example:(a several seconds of silence after a crash.........Yes, I'm ok,) I could do without. If only this show was around for the 1975 season!

Mercedes will come to the table just fine. The bigger question is Ferrari. I'm a long time Suderia fan, but kinda pissed about how crappy they treated Vettel.

Kimi, Lewis, Seb & Fernando vs the kids led by Max (Lando, Charles & all...). I'm pulling for the "old" guys!

    It's at fantasy.formula1.com - it's free to sign up.

Once you create a team, search for the league (VelocipedeF1) using this code: 5f63eac5d8 if it's too hard to find/join let me know. There's a "join with a code" button on the upper right

I've asked our riders to watch this series. Maybe it's creative editing, but the obedience and respect of the drivers towards staff is jaw dropping. (worth noting, the first time I watched the series was after one of our now-former riders called me a dick multiple times over the course of multiple days following removing her from the roster for a race).

Verstappen looks great and seems to feel super confident in his car. Perez is quick, but not quite there yet. I love the sound of those Hondas. I'm admittedly a Honda fanboy, and I'm hoping to see Yuki succeed. Alpha-tauri is a pretty strong mid-pack contender.

Mercedes the underdog coming into this first race?

Mclaren seems to have an extremely solid duo. Might not win races, but both drivers are top 5 capable.

Ferrari....better than expected in practice. Both Leclerc and Sainz seem to show signs of speed, but seem inconsistent IMO.

I really want to route for Haas, but my goodness are they slow. Something isn't working and I can't imagine Gene spending any more money on this team after this year. Same for Wililams and I would really hate to see Williams fold as a team.

Practice certainly was entertaining. Fingers crossed for some drama up front this season!

That was exciting! Hopefully the rest of the season ends up being a good fight between Red Bull and Mercedes. Yuki pulling out a top ten in his first race! The mid pack battle is going to be awesome between Ferrari, Mclaren, and Alpha Tauri.

Vettel unfortunately seems to have picked up right where he left off at Ferrari.

I guess I had a glimmer of hope that the midpack teams would inch closer to the front. Maybe they did a little but still seems like Mercedes, Red Bull and then everyone else.

Haas is sad. Why don't they just throw the cash in a dumpster this year and burn it?

I think you might be contending for F1 team of the week after Monaco. Holy cow.

Boy howdy, LeClerc and Botas struck out with bad luck this weekend.

Supposedly Botas' wheel is still stuck on the car, being sent back to the UK for removal.

LeClerc: Ferrari mechanics were mistakenly issued "order 109" --
The same directive they used with Vettel last season. Enough said.

Bottas: even though this was 100% not his fault, some in the media will blame him for not pitting "aggressive" enough.

    Yeah, just joking...

Good for Max, Carlos, Lando and also Seb. Also good to see Mercedes show they are not robots programmed to win, but human like the rest.

I love the Monaco GP, but they really need to figure out more passing zones.
