The Bond Nato straps are fun, comfortable and cheap as chips. Most OEM replacement straps are expensive - eg you can get c 6 Nato straps for the price of one Sinn leather replacement. They do fray after a while, but just get some more. They are easy to swop around to suit your mood. Not much more difficult than putting on a clean pair of socks. If you do want a new leather strap, go to your local watch shop and maybe buy a Hirsch, the gold standard for medium level leather straps. You will pay a bit more than you might over the internet, but they will fit it for you (so you do not scratch your lugs) and you will help them stay open.

If anybody here wants a Nato strap for the price of shipping - mine are never likely getting used again after getting the Erikas MN.

pm me for details. One is a shortish 22mm navy bluShark, the other is an olive green Nato Strap Co zulu with bronze hardware.

I had a cork watchband. I don't think it is 100% cork, but like handlebar tape is blended with some sort of synthetic and/or leather plus glue. Mine looked old really fast and stained and got kind of stiff. It actually looked cool on a gold watch, but I didn't like the way it aged.

Suede, too, especially a light color. It is exactly like bar tape - you want the look, you make the (time/money) investment.

A good option for single pass NATOs - Vario, in Singapore. The more you buy the cheaper they get, I got two of their 'seat belt' style straps for $27.20 shipped, took about a week and a half to get them. Got one in black, one in black w/red edges. Quality appears to be great. They're a bit different than the BluShark AlphaShark straps - they're a bit thinner, the weave is different, hardware is slightly different, etc. But overall quality seems to be as good if not a bit better. They're long enough with my skinny wrists I can tuck the excess back under both keepers.

They just came in today, so durability is TBD, but I don't suspect any issues.

They have a bunch of other strap options as well - tweed, leather, silicone, two piece graphic natos. They even have a few watches of their own. VARIO – VARIOeveryday

I finally found the OG source for these straps. And now I can’t find it in my history.

I’ve got a Vario that I’ll slap on tomorrow. I like it a lot. Just wish mine had the same hardware as that one.

Well, after a week with the Vario straps, I have to give them a thumbs down. The black/red one pictured above is fraying a good bit and it's only been worn a couple times. It's fraying around the holes, the edges seem to be unraveling, etc. Didn't have this issued with any other NATOs, even cheap ones.

Need to take a good look at the black one, I think it's holding up better, but maybe it's just hiding it better since it's all-black.

Still loving the Erika's MN. The bronze hardware has patina'd nicely along with the watch body as well now - and I can snap it on now on generally the first or second try. Being able to fine adjust the fit is so nice as I can't stand that heavy watch banging around on my wrist.

It's the Seiko that they won't sell us. :)

Well, they are now. It's just $4000 and a tad absurd.

That Ti version is really tempting...

No bronze, but they re-released the 6105 at Basel this year. Limited run of 2,500. 8L35 movement. $4k. And the case shape grew by a mm.

Heresy...that Sea Dweller should be on the original metal bracelet!

Or at least go for one of these (they both come in SD4000 or SD43 sizes and with or without original Rolex clasp):

Nope...Deepseas are fine on nylon/nato/etc. But either he lacks any sort of OCD with a watch that has the wrong date and the bezel randomly rotated, or that's a recycled photo from the interwebs.

Maybe he was tracking his dive time in that....what looks to be a really comfortable leather sofa?
