I was looking for more stuff by this guy, and it turns out he's more than just some dude with nice tools. He is an EE and optical designer and machinist and co-founded Creo, maker of top-end film scanners, aerial cameras and camera-to-plate systems that Kodak bought for $1billion. He has over 100 patents. It's kind of like Elon Musk making YouTube videos, but if Musk actually were the rocket scientist.
