M. Scott Douglass, the editor at Main Street Rag Publishing, sent three cover images last summer -- this is the one that I picked. It's not lurid (sorry lumpy), but it captures a lot of what's going on in the collection. The road creates a narrative, you have decay in the buildings, there's the midwestern/rural setting, and the single red mailbox suggests a lot of things that, I hope, get developed in the poems. I also dig the stark font -- I think it looks kinda like spray paint, and that's part of the vibe, as well.
