I don't use a seatbag. I carry my spare tubular in my pocket and sometimes a zip-loc bag in my jersey pocket with some money in it. On extremely rare occasions I'll carry my phone.

But I don't carry anything more than a tire and cash on 98% of my rides. The only exception is Tuesday nights in Grand Rapids when I am riding to and from the brewery hammer-50-miles-and-get-shitfaced-afterwards-and-ride-rides where I carry a small backpack with my lights and a Recoverite packet. This backpack is left behind the bar for the ride and is used only to and from the ride.

The Zank is pictured about 60 seconds before I climbed on and took off for a spin from Arlington to Leesburg and back. No saddle bag. Ever.

I love anything from the photo offerings of FLUX.

However, I particularly like bikes pictured with riders - Merckx, Gimondi, LeMond, Hinault .... and DarrenCT all look good on bikes.

e-Richie looks awesome on a Cross (effin rules) bike.

This is a GREAT post, I would agree that bikes in the 55-59ish range look proportionally best, setback, classy saddle choice, classic drop bars, 110-130 stem and no saddle bags! Really any Zank, Sachs, Baum, Gaulzetti, Speedvagen and a few others.

Saab's Zanc is awesome... as far as "no saddle bags", really? While I don't carry a huge bag, I just can't imagine not having a set of levers, tube, a couple of pre-glued patches (just in case) and my chain tool (have a road drive pump as CO2 is waste re: the environment)... to each his own and I guess maybe you just mean no saddle bags for a pic (but then it's not really representing the bike as ridden), but as someone else pointed out above, a saddle bag just means the damn thing gets ridden and not just on huge group rides where someone else will have what you don't...

That light blue Gaulzetti is so close. I dig the base color and the decals. But the parts mix doesn't work for me. Black stubby, white stem and hoods, red headset, silver spacer. A bit too much for my tastes but it isn't my bike.

I'm partial to my Parlee build from last year. Bike is going to my dad for his 70th birthday. I left a lot of fork steerer for future adjustment. I generally don't pay attention to the color details but for this one I took time to source all the orange stuff. Should probably put on a compact crank for dad though.

That white crumpton is outstanding. Whether he sold it or not I give mr lee kudos for having the panache to put that thing together.

A bike that looks proper and looks like a daily rider suits my taste. cookietruck, kgb, run a seat bag or a rack with pride. I think your bikes are true to the OP's idea.

Spare tire goes in there. I couldn't ride a hour away from fluids around me if I tried. One bottle for rides, two for racing (spare tire useless).
