Jeffrey Epstein Commits Suicide at Manhattan Jail - The New York Times
The guy was total scum, but he was protected by a lot of powerful people. Good riddance. We still have the fucked up world he operated in though.
Re: This is how conspiracy theories get started...
no doubt he took some secrets with him. Hopefully it brings some closure to the people he victimized without putting them through the additional trauma of testifying (again).
Re: This is how conspiracy theories get started...
He tried it a few weeks ago. Why wasn't he being more closely monitored?
I hate conspiracy stuff in general but this..... wow.

Bill Richardson?
George Mitchell?
Holy smokes.
Re: This is how conspiracy theories get started...
Just a hunch, but maybe this was a legal strategy to sway some public opinion? When the media starts playing clips of folks like Bill Richardson and others say ‘absolutely totally fabricated’ it could potentially carry over to taint the veracity of the very real claims against Epstein.
In this new world of ours all that matters to most folks is a 4 second soundbite affects public perception. Facts are so 30 years ago.

#clintonbodycount is trending on twitter. Did you expect anything less?

Was Epstein on Suicide Watch When He Died? - The New York Times
I’ve heard there is no suicide watch in prison for some people, even if they are on suicide watch.

A judge released the sealed testimony after a freedom of information request from a news organization I believe. I don’t remember which news organization.
I think at this point the winds have shifted and anyone who says these are all lies looks like one more liar to add to the pile. I think credibility may prove surprisingly difficult for these men to establish.

Will be interesting to hear the reason for the "technical glitch" that results in 20 minutes of static on the security camera feed

Reminds me of a friend who was working for a large defense contractor. Cameras in the parking lots, etc. Henry owned an '84 Vette. Drove it to work one day, and it was stolen from the parking lot. But the security camera's panning angle stopped just before the parking spot his car was in...
Back to Epstein: For conspiracy theorists-was the suicide watch called off to allow the alleged suicide to occur? Were people in the chain of command paid off to rescind the suicide watch? Those committing crimes against minors are despised in the hierarchy of prison inmates-was he killed by a cellmate (don't know if he had his own cell), and the cellmate paid off? Who was the guy on the grassy knoll?
Re: This is how conspiracy theories get started...
The WaPo has a nice piece on what suicide watch is supposed to entail where he was being held. Same facility as the Chapo.
Looks pretty bad. The optics, in the parlance of our times, are not good at all.

It's only 18.5 minutes of static. It was caused by prison security guard/video monitor Rose Mary Woods reaching over her shoulder to adjust the noise reduction and equalizer button while on the phone, and something went wrong.

Maybe you were thinking instead of the one who talked about a riot in Sweden two days before it happened comrade?

AG Barr is now “investigating”.
I’m betting it was those rascally Ukrainians.

I think it will do the opposite. He got the easy way out, and they get to live with that for the rest of their lives.
Re: This is how conspiracy theories get started...
As much as the guy pleaded the 5th, I wonder if, in the event there was monkey business leading to the suicide situation, whether it would backfire for whomever Epstein would be thinking of that had a hand in said theoretical monkey business. The FBI has opened up an investigation.
