Show your tool modifications
Here's a couple of mine. This first one is obvious to anyone that has had the Park Tool arm slide out of it's holder while spinning a frame into position. The second one is a little less obvious. My sandblaster is a siphon feed type. The motor turns on when the light and vacuum are powered. The motor vibrates the cabinet enough to cause the aluminum oxide to move to the bottom rather than stick to the sides. It ain't OSHA approved but it sure works well. Let's see some of your modifications!
Re: Show your tool modifications
I did the same thing to my Park stand after almost dropping a hot frame. The old ones used to have a tab between the wedge that held the clamp in.
I just got a new jig so I've been hacking away at it.
I added graduation to the plates that support chainstays and seatstays. Made some dummy tires as well.

Re: Show your tool modifications
I have a few I'll post later - I'm spending the rest of the year tuning up the shop.
One critical one I just did was to make a new giant wingnut for the new Park 44mm headtube facer/chaser - the wonky plastic QR unit it came with was a wambly piece of shit.

Re: Show your tool modifications
I just starting working something to help my J3 jig align and keep parallel the chain and seat stays for fat tire bikes,
Now that I saw Joel's elegant solution, I think maybe that's something to consider.
I am having trouble getting perfect alignment with the stays, so that there is maximum clearance for the crank and the tire, if's it's off a little bit it shows.

welded a bar and threaded rod, big washer centers it to BB bolt, I thought I'd put nuts and a washer at the center line of the seat tube and measure each side.
Comments, suggestions?
cheers

Speak to Don and see if he'll sell you one of the new doodads that fits on the BB tower. My JMan came with one and I made an arm with dummy tyre inserts which really helps to get everything central.

Another way, that quite a few builders does it (myself included) is to make a "puck" that fits in the centre pin hole on the main tube holder arm.

Re: Show your tool modifications
Wow, thanks for the great ideas. Another great thread here.
Figures Don was already doing something, appreciate the mention of it as I hadn't seen that yet. I'll give him an email.
The dummy puck really looks like it would help.

Re: Show your tool modifications
I posted these pics in a different thread. a longer jig arm for ISP applications and tall boys. Took some serious tool time on my ENCO. I too am working on a tire approximating device mounted on the BB tower guide, that bullseye one with the different cylinders is F'ng trick tho. I doff my virtual cap at you sir.
