Quality flannel shirts (snaps preferred)
We’re loving more and more of our lives in our front yard these days, “bubbled” up with our neighbors. It’s a lifesaver for the kids and going to try and keep things going as far into winter as possible.
I have a nice quilted flannel shirt jacket from Outerknown that I rarely take off when it cools down but am also looking for a nice medium to heavy flannel I can wear multiple times a week as well.
The Kitsbow Icon shirt gets a lot of good press but it’s pricey and not sure whether it’s too techy for bumming around in. It’s made from Pendleton wool. Pendleton themselves have a nice snap style flannel.
Anyone have any opinions on these or others I should look at? Woolrich seems like it’s a little more boxy fitting and less stylish.
Curious to hear the collective opinions here.

Hard to say no to LLBean insulated shirt. I'm wearing one my dad bought two years before dirt was invented. Presently, I'm breaking in a new one that will probably outlast the apocalypse.
Much to choose from these days > https://www.llbean.com/llb/search/?f...rts+men&init=1
I can wear these lined flannel shirts down to freezing with a windbreaker.

I am a huge fan of Filson Moleskin Seattle shirt. I like the solid colors and it is durable as heck. It gets more comfortable the more you wear it.
The sizing can be a little funky so definitely if you can find it an try it on. I dont know how you are built, but would probably recommend whatever size you get and then get LONG. For some reason, I find these run short in the sleeve and body.

After about 3 years, the olive is the nicest faded color.

Thanks guys.
Bean’s Medium-Tall used to fit me nicely, but the most recent one I got was cut like a 1950’s canvas tent.
Will need to have another look.

If you can stomach the $$$, I highly recommend Japanese flannel from Iron Heart, Flathead, etc.
Try: Www.selfedge.com
The crew at UES make an equally quality product at a better price point & several flannel weights - I have a couple from here:
www.japaneseselvagejeans.com
Order from them with confidence - they’re legit.

Forgot to mention Imogene + Willie often have great shirts this time of year.
Re: Quality flannel shirts (snaps preferred)
I have several Filson work shirts and Alaskan Flannel shirts that like TT mentioned are about as old as dirt and still look good. If you don't want to go with the button up shirt I like the LL Bean River Driver for kicking around the yard.

I try to buy everything in merino and really love the kitsbow flannel. Spendy, but robust and versatile. And 100% North Carolina made.
Re: Quality flannel shirts (snaps preferred)
I had a Kitsbow Icon (original cut) for a week. It was beautiful and I loved it but it did not fit. I have a fairly muscular build (5'9" 170 lbs) with broadish shoulders. The medium was too snug through the shoulders and the large was too large, especially in sleeve length. At the time, there was not a relaxed option, which I suspect would have worked well.

I have a few flat head shirts, the details are worth it. My short sleeve flannel has the best snaps ever, while the long sleeve shirts have buttons.
I'd get an iron heart shirt, except I like my pockets pattern matched.
For more affordable, www.18waits.com or https://shopsydneys.com/collections/casual-shirts have good options, once again, with buttons not snaps.

Something happened at Filson. I have a couple shirts from them that are hard as nails. Last time I went into a shop, however, there wasn't much difference from J.Crew.
I keep adding a couple of these to my shopping cart at SWRVE before I just end up buy more pants instead. I will eventually end up ordering some. If they came in gray, I'd have them already.

And this will be in my next order. I need more layers. With snaps!

The quality of Iron Heart sets them apart from nearly all. Have a look too at Trophy Clothing. The Japanese brands are just better made from the fabric to the sewing. The Flat Head has had difficulties getting things to market. The American company Dixxon makes a great fabric that's a kind of magic synthetic, highly recommended.
