Tandem tig-welding sequence

Hi!
I'm working on my first tig-welded tandem. I've done several fillet-brazed tandems, and this one will be for me and my gf 😀
I'm looking for suggestions for the welding sequence when assembling the front and rear parts of the tandem: I was thinking of using the same sequence I use for front triangles (I think it's the sequence which is taught at UBI), but I only have one set of BB and ST heatsinks, so I was wondering if it might not be possible to weld everything on the front ST, and then proceed with the rear ST?

When I weld up a tandem, the entire frame is fixtured. I begin with all the passes in the vertical plane, alternating at the opposite ends of the tubes (Top of top tube/head tube...bottom of top tube, stoker seat tube). Then I move to opposite horizontal planes, working at the ends of the longest tubes. Once I have the ends welded, I work in sequence around all the center intersections of the pierced tubes.

It is very similar to a single, only the heat input is much more evident on the long tubes, so be diligent with your heat distribution.

As for heatsinks...I do not use them except for the rare joint, maybe once a year.

Thanks Rody, that sounds like a good alternative. I have an old journeyman, where the access on the backside is not very good, that's why I usually prefer to weld outside of the jig... ;-) But I will try your method!
