Anyone bought a suit in Shanghai?
I'm working in Shanghai for three weeks this fall and supposedly this is a good place to get cheap tailoring done. Online opinion on this seems to be polarized: lots of people say they got good suits but lots of others say you are buying crap. Anyone bought a Shanghai suit?

Indirectly. The Hong Kong Tailors use Shanghai. Here's the caveat. You get what you pay for. A cheap suit is just a cheap suit with tailoring done in Shanghai. ATMO.
Search Style forum. I know there is a thread with tailors and folks experiences.
With a suit you need time and fitting for it to come out right. Less of either will compromise the end result. Good luck. I understand there are still bargains to be had if you are diligent and flexible in your price point.

I've heard that if you do nothing else, you have to check out the UNIQLO fitting rooms...

I have three weeks so there should be time for fittings. I'm seeing prices of like $100/suit so it might be worth it just for fun.

My pop did in the 1970's. They were those shiny silver silk suits. He looked so cool.

Sharksin. I had a jacket like that in the 90s.
