Back as of Monday. I spend yesterday passed out and am catching up on office work today with a bike delivery tomorrow. Lots of fun, and excited to get back in the shop!

My favorite moments are when "show bikes" (I don't build show bikes) become "real bikes".
Field report:
"51 miles and 5000 feet of climbing. 40mph gravel descent... Bike performed flawlessly!!!"

Note from the field:
"Exploring north Wales"

Field notes:
"Ran a piece of road last night I love to ride bike on and conditions and traffic were perfect. Riding my bike was so awesome!!!! Perfection!!!! Love it!!!...This is the perfect 100 mile ride".
I dig it when you dig it. Thanks, folks!

Thunderstruck: after several weeks off due to a lightning strike at the plant power room, I'm finally scabbed back in enough to get back in the shop! Huge thanks to my very patient clients during this s ordeal.
I don't generally do the paint or finish on my bikes, but I'm trying to get in the booth to keep my familiarity. Ceramic is it's own beast, and yellow is always a fun color to apply.

Here are a couple of non- bike related side projects. I like to stretch myself with non-bike related projects to keep my brain and hands hungry- it always re-energizes the bicycle work.
I used to be a fairly avid boater, and after many years off the water I'm getting back into it. Seems like the perfect excuse to learn a little woodworking and make some paddles. I'm pretty far down the rabbit hole and I've just started.
First one. Lots of mistakes, but an equal number of places to learn. Sort of a Passamaquoddy/ Aleutian blend. Tung oil is amazing. PA harvested walnut and basswood.

Number two, oiled up. Reclaimed cherry with pine accents.PA harvested basswood heart and walnut edging. Sort of a wide ottertail.

Super fun- I'm learning a lot and am constantly frustrated. Good stuff to keep those neurons firing.

What color is the dark blue coupled bike?
That is actually black paint with a custom mix of blue pearls. The layers give it the final color and effect. It has white graphics with a silver drop shadow on the dt script.
