What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
Post your deck(s) here ..
I had a lime green Steve Caballero. I skated ramps a little but was such a wuss dropping in. My ollies were terrible as well and I wasn't much of a street or freestyle skater. Mostly my skateboard was just transportation to get from A to B. It didn't matter if B was 3 miles away and I don't remember getting tired once.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
I had the one that was kinda shaped like a whale shark. Can't remember the name of it because I've backfilled that part of my brain with trivial bike knowledge.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
I had a G&S Stacy Peralta model, then a Logan Earth Ski (a 3/4" solid oak plank that weighed about 50 lbs) then a maple laminate Atlantic deck, iirc like 34-36" x8" made by some small shop in Maryland. That was set up with some tracker mid-tracks and some Bones wheels that I dumpster picked from some joint in Purcellville, Va. That was a nice setup.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
I had a handful, but the two note worhy ones were a Vision Agent Orange and a Santa Cruise Cruz Steve Olson.
-
Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
My first and best "real" board was a Lance Mountain:

I was the least hardcore of my skater buddies and before this board I had a couple handmedowns from them. All were Powell Peralta though.
I just watched the recent Bones Brigade docu- worth a look if you were from that era.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
I had one of the first ones that Hosoi put out and a Magnussan used the same Gullwings trucks on both. I sucked at skating but didn't really have the environment to enable it either. I still would have sucked anyway.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
i broke a couple sets of gullwing trucks too...then I switched to tracker. Started riding my BMX 10:1 over my skateboard so I never had a chance to break another.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
G&S Bowlrider with Trackers and Powerflex wheels. Like 1978? What I lacked in ability I made up for in spectacular crashes.
-
Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
I bet Chris King could make a mean skateboard wheel

I got it in sixth grade and it was so big it was like riding a surfboard. It was stolen a few years later and replaced with a Vision Gator and the combination of smaller board and larger me was much better.

I had another one after that. Then I faced the truth that I sucked at skating, and got my first roadbike.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?

Pre-fancy shapes, pre-Bonite. Clear grip on top, Tracker trucks with the nylon base.
My mom must have thrown it away or ditched it in a garage sale after I went to college? Not sure.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
Section of 2x4 from my father's stock in garage. Nailed a split roller skate (the kind with the metal key to tighten and the wing nut to size) to the bottom. Swiped my mother's food coloring in lieu of paint -made a nice tye dye scheme. Skateboard easily converted to a scooter by nailing a wooden fruit crate to the top. Now I ride a bike that cost more (literally) than the house I grew up in. Weird.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
A Town and Country with Tracker trucks and lem drop wheels.

World Industries Mike Vallely, two different ones.
This one:

I had a Tommy Guerrero dagger board from Powell Peralta (this might have been my very first board)
Attachment 51408
Trucks by Indy, always.
I sorta miss skating. I got to pump around in a mini pipe not that long ago, and it's amazing the muscle memory that sticks around. It was a blast.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
Logan earth ski, trackers, & big red Kryptos

Same but orange. Others I don't remember as well.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
Big black Alva, with the scar Alva logo. Sweet thread. Used to load all our shit on our bikes and skate/ride all the way across town to Fair Street or Flowerday's to skate. Lincoln had a pretty impressive skate scene. Midwest Melee MIDWEST MELEE - YouTube.
I wasn't very good, but my buddies were, and it was all kinds of fun. Hosoi, Caballero, McGill, Steve Steadham, Lance Mountain they were all at the Midwest Melee, many others whose name's escape me. It was pretty impressive for a13 year old living in the a$$hole of the US to see them here.

Re: What skateboard deck did you grow up riding?
I need to sleep on this but I'm thinking about buying 3 of my favorite decks and hanging them somewhere as artwork. This thread has brought back a lot of positive memories and skate decks are really cheap modern art.

Don't sleep on it...do it. I may steal your idea, actually.
