Cords not named Patagonia
hey y'all - got any recommdations for Corduroy pants that aren't from Patagonia? Their 34L are oh-so-comfortable and fit me well, but they have the resilience of tissue paper. Buttons pulling out, fabric thinning ... not good. Looking for alternatives in fit, price, and business ethics if you got any.
Thanks!
Re: Cords not named Patagonia
I've been real happy with Outerknown jeans and khakis (and shirts, and boardshorts...) and would not hesitate to try their cords. My last pair of Patagonia ones wore through and faded from gray to pink/purple but it took a decent number of years. I do understand that times change though.
Re: Cords not named Patagonia
It's kind of the off season for cords since I think you will have better luck in the fall.
If you want cheap and if you are a slim build, try the Uniqlo cords. While they may not last as long as patagonia, you can probably get like 4 pair for the same price.
I have some cords from Barbour which are durable, but again nothing in stock now. Also Prana and Lululemon may have some in their ABC pants.
Re: Cords not named Patagonia
I have the same problem with Patagonia jeans. The fabric isn't denim and they turn purple after washing. However, no problems with the buttons or anything coming apart. If they are having issues, you should send them back to Patagonia.
I think a lot of corduroy now is sort of a mini-wale velour. More of a dress pant material than something durable.
I like SWRVE's durable cotton pants (available in more cuts than just slim.) They do not wear out. I spent the day walking through raspberry bushes and no snags and they protected my legs.
Also Filson Dry Tin Cloth pants.
