i finally scored some most excellent blades - and they were, in fact, starrett atmo.
all i remember was the yellow color.
the other shit starretts were grey iirc atmo.
+1 for the yellow Starretts. I've also had decent luck with Lenox blades.
Chauncey, Steve,
I've been using the Safe Flex Starrett blades. They're yellow, with a green stripe across them. They last well, as long or longer than the Lennox blades I tried before I switched to these. They're listed on this Enco page, Enco - Guaranteed Lowest Prices on Machinery, Measuring Tools, Cutting Tools and Shop Supplies
Cheers.

+2 on the yellow Starrett blades and I'm mostly using OXPLAT, buying them locally.

+1 on buying locally. I have a fantastic neighborhood hardware store. Well, it's more like my girlfriend's neighborhood. They rock either way.
almost all Starret hackasaw blades are yellow. I have no local source, does anyone know what color stripe they are using? MSC is making this one easy though, all they have in stock are the blue striped ones
I've been using the yellow w/red safe-flex bi-metal. Seems to hold up.
looks like bs1232 atmo.

I mis-typed, all they have is the red stripe. Should be here monday, along with a Noga indicator stand. Only the most excellent stuff for my shop.
