Kitchen torches
Suggestions please.
Intended use: browning, caramelizing, putting some char on the occasional dessert or shrimp.
I have an old Bed Bath Beyond one that runs on butane. Looks like this The striker is shot and doesn’t spark to ignite the gas. I like that it can be refilled using over the counter butane as opposed to some models where you have to order a specific canister that screws into the torch head.
I don’t need anything as complicated as the Searzall that attaches to a contractor-sized canister of gas.
Thanks

Re: Kitchen torches
I had multiple "Kitchen Torches" burn out on me so i started using my Propane torch that I use for Plumbing repairs instead. Some of my Chef friends do the same. I used to have pictures of the last kitchen torch I had that blew up on me someplace, I'll never use one again.

Re: Kitchen torches
Broke down and bought an actual torch. All the kitchen specific models look very similar to what I already have, a glorified cigar lighter
