Re: 2019 Vsalon Nomads ride
I will be in the big red van and Airstream trailer on site 67. Don't plan on waiting till the last minute to book a site. This is a popular state park and typically is sold out weeks if not months in advance.
Josh is not kidding about the gearing. A few climbs late in the day will see sections with a percent grade in the high teens. I plan to have a 34x34 low gear and will definitely need it at a few spots. The vast majority of the riding will be on forest service roads. A few short sections of singletrack might be thrown in to make sure you are paying attention.
Re: 2019 Vsalon Nomads ride
excellent. i need some motivation.
site 71 booked for the weekend.
if all else fails, i'll keep the beer cold and the fires burning at camp.

We will pass at least 3-4 places to refill water from local sources. One place will be a store to load up on supplies. Water will be stashed strategically the day before as needed.

Re: 2019 Vsalon Nomads ride
Dan is too nice, yeah yeah of course there will be a plan. Geeze.
We plan to do some tune up rides between now and than. You are welcome to join.
Re: 2019 Vsalon Nomads ride
Bumping this back up to make sure everybody is getting early season base miles in for this ride. If 100 miles of gravel biking is not enough for you, the Pine Grove Furnace 1/2 marathon trail run is the same day and starts less than a mile from the campground.
Re: 2019 Vsalon Nomads ride
I'm in. Site 48 (needed a pet site). No idea what my fitness will be, so might do the "big ride" or just something road or shorter, depending. Willing to sag etc. Will make a big batch of gumbo or jambalya for one nite once we know how many we have. Will have popup and a large diesel supercrew.

Dan and Josh - I have a cabin in the forest about a mile from the campground (where I'm writing this from, incidentally). Happy to help out as needed. DM/Josh has my email.

Joe you are on. Can't really think of anything we'd need other than your fanny on a bike seat for some riding.
glepore <<< DEWD welcome to the show! I have two sites reserved, one pet and other is in the group area. If I have my dog we'll have to schedule some dog down play time. Bring your A game it is a long day but not something impossible.

Thanks. I sorta think you oughta trailer your Carrera and me mine. I have an '85 with an aftermarket turbo and haven't driven a watercooled pcar other than a boxster and cayman.
I moved to c'ville last year and in between that and remodel and horses (oh my!) my fitness is at an all time low. You did inspire me to do a full hour of nonstop sweetspot today, but we'll see...
Re: 2019 Vsalon Nomads ride
Not sure about the gravel 100 as I only have a road bike and a 29er fully. could you send me the ride sheet when you have it? I'm imagining piney mtn.ridge --> Teaberry--> back mostly via Ridge, with lots of detours.
But I am always good to cook up some good food and bring some good beer!

Fair enough. If you can fit 32s you are good to go. Look forward to this.
GLEPORE >>> We definitely could have a Pcar weekend riding/driving sounds like a plan. We'll have to talk offline.
