Re: What are the brands of hoops (rims) you are riding?
This thread seems to have died, so maybe it's time for a revival.
Humor me. On one side of the ring we have some handbuilt wheels with DT 411 28h rims, Sapim Cx or comparable spokes, and DA9000 hubs. On the other side, there's a pair of Bora One 35 wheels. Both rim brake clinchers with tubes.
Is this gonna be a knockout, or a split decision?
I don't race, but I like to keep up with others the best I can. I can follow wheels all day, but at 180# and riding in the hills and gaps of Vermont and New Hampshire, I'm not getting many KOM points. All my wheels are alloy right now.
Re: What are the brands of hoops (rims) you are riding?
The only custom rims I have are actually factory-made rims by Torelli called the Master Series, I had them customed laced with DT double-butted Revolution spokes on the front rim and DT double-butted Competition spokes on the rear, laced up to Suntour Superbe hubs with brass nipples. I still have those wheels on a bike that I have retired. And they rarely went out of true, and when they did it was just very slight.
Re: What are the brands of hoops (rims) you are riding?
I'm down to two sets of road wheels right now: shiny H+Son TB14s laced to a Son dynamo and a White T11, and dark ano Archetypes laced to DT350 hubs. I'm a tube + tire guy who got tired (heh) of dealing with tubeless-ready rims.
