What podcast should I be listening to right now?

I binge-listen to podcasts in fits and starts. I haven't listened to anything in awhile, and I'm in need of a new, good podcast to listen to.

My typical tastes run heavy on NPR, and I've enjoyed Malcom Gladwell's "Revisionist History" and "Broken Record," listened to all the Serial podcasts except the latest one, and from time to time have listened to Velonews's Fast Talk, Cycling Tips podcast, Silca's Marginal gains, and quite a few of the builder profiles on The Pull. But I'm also open to something totally different.

Recommendations? What are you listening to right now?

Depending on your age...........60 songs that Explain the 90s on Spotify. Very entertaining backstories on artists and songs, even of songs that I don't really like.

I found Floodlines (about hurricane Katrina) to be an engaging listen; I also enjoyed Blindspot: The Road to 9/11. If you want a different bend though, I enjoyed "From Now" which is a podcast that is more like a radio show in that it is a work of fiction with real actors voicing their roles.

Up First .... NPR's daily morning news recap.
People I (Mostly) Admire ... interview podcast hosted by Steve Levitt
Bad Vibes ... creepy short audio stories
Atlas Obscura ... short interesting travel stories
Glorious Professionals ... Goruck podcast focused on service.
Sudhir Breaks the Internet ... interesting limited series about social media

Through line from NPR is pretty interesting.

The Dirtbag Diaries is the best outdoor adventure podcast out there, imho.

Cocaine and Rhinestones, from Tyler Mahan Coe, son of David Allan Coe. It's the greatest music podcast out there. First season is something of an overview of the history of country music. The second season now out is all about George Jones. And he goes deep on George. Like, how Melville went on whaling in Moby Dick deep.

We have similar tastes. I also have:

Against the Rules with Michael Lewis (probably heard of it from Gladwell)
Conversations with Coleman Hughes - politics, race, eduction topics
The Hang with Gregory Porter - music internviews
Third Story with Leo Sidran - Music interviews, especially some of the older ones like Donald Fagen, Al Shmitt, Glyn Johns, Rick Beato, Boz Scaggs
The Portal with Eric Weinstein - he has some very good insights into"sensemaking" and the gated institutional narratives in the media.
All In - when i want to hear four VC billionaires take on the way the world should work... and not really believe it.

I usually listen to these all on Spotify.

"Unexplained" - by Richard MacLean Smith, varied and interesting topics of unexplained events presented beautifully without the typical corny facts etc.
"Here's The Thing with Alex Baldwin" - some good interviews but wish there were some more celebrities to voice there opinions and revel who they really are.
"Those Who Were There: Voices from the Holocaust" - my Polish heritage draws me to this and a need to know what the personal tolls were for such a horrid time.

The Alex Baldwin podcast is in my rotation but I only turn it on when he has someone actually interesting. He had Daryl Hall last year. Very good. And others. Many are likely interesting but to me unknown. His can be OK. Not always. But occasionally.

Cautionary Tales is another good one if you like Against the Rules

I agree, lately more uninteresting than usual. The Daryl Hall one was good, regardless of what people think of him I liked the Woody Allen one, Jerry Seinfield , Barry Gibb, Anjelica Huston who discusses her time with Jack Nicholson.

Also, not exactly a podcast, but I really like the Not Just Bikes YouTube channel

I've been enjoying 'Sweep the Floor' which interviews someone who makes or handcrafts things. Richard Sachs was one of the first guests, and the other guests include surfboard shapers, luthiers and such.

Also, if you like hip hop, funk & soul, I really enjoy 'Heat Rocks', which takes a deep dive on a musical guest's favourite album each week.

Just finished listening to this. Pulled me right in.
