All I need is a spare $100,000.
Looks like an old Escort. Modern, street-legal rally car underneath.
So absurd, it seems necessary.
I'll take the MKI shell, though.

Yeah, that mkI is a looker, alright. I'd love one of those. Small, light car, fun to drive... I'd imagine since it's technically a new car, it'd be impossible to import into Canada though (not that I have the money for it anyways...)
You have excellent taste. Great specs. I've gotta say if ever get back into track days it will be something along those lines with alot less class. Smaller cars with less power are more fun to drive fast.
Can either one of you guys even fit in one of those things?
SPP
You [I]can[I] import them to the US and Canada, because they're technically "kit cars" heh heh heh....
I'd order a set and name them Left leg, Right leg.
My sister had a prep'd Miata. This was one of the first cars they imported (?) Anywho, I put the top down and had a great time eating bugs and getting sideways.
No, I would kill myself in that clown car but it looks fun.
Maybe more affordable option? Though I suspect this one wasn't so cheap to build. Sounds like a Trabant engine though. Driver is quite good. Germans racing small cars.

Oh man his double apex skills are uhhhhmazing. So column shift eh?
If you like that you have to check out Project Binky on youtube. A couple guys stuff all the running gear from a Celica Supra 4WD into the shell of a Mini 1000.
I will apologize in advance to all for the days you are about to lose when you dive down that rabbit hole.
it'd actually be easier to import if it was a vintage escort body shell. The US import rule is exempted after the vehicle is 25 years old. A lot of 90's era Japan and Euro only vehicles are starting to command large prices now that Americans who drooled over them as kids via Gran Turismo, Fast and Furious, etc. have the money and legal means to acquire them.
I am all over Mini resto-mods. I was watching Fastest Car on Netflix. It's a terrible show, would not recommend. But one of the episodes did feature a guy out of California modding Minis, which was pretty much the best part of that show for me. [Spoiler alert] The Mini beat out a Mclaren, although it wasn't the fastest car on that episode.

Ok, I now need to keep an eye on this to see the finished product...
Oh, and - HOLY COW. The one on the left below is *dreamy*:

My mind is really in the gutter these days. Saw the title, "$100,000 Escort" and started thinking along the lines of Pretty Woman...
No worries, my lovely wife has surely cost me more than that. And it's been worth every penny.
Nah, I think it's the rest of you louts who are getting too distracted by loud toys.
Great video, Jorn. I love the little momentum cars. That red boxy coupe (Renault?) reminded me of myself in Forza--strong straights, weak turns.
