S-bend stays and plate dropouts - fillet brazing
I'm working on my 4th frame and am struggling with the best way to attach plate dropouts (PMW low mount) to s-bend chainstays. The stays and DOs meet at a pretty significant angle, not in line with each other. This seems to result in a minimum of contact between the DO and CS, necessitating a whole lot of filler brass. Is this normal? Is this structurally sound?
For examples of what I'm taking about see here (though this was TIG welded): https://meriwethercycles.wordpress.c...-carousel-4319

Thanks!

To paraphrase someone who frequents this place. 'show it who's boss'.
Are you using a lugged shell? If so, you need to tweak the angles to make it work. If it's a lugless shell then I don't understand the problem. Either way, you're going to need to fill the gap or cap the ends.

I think I've probably been over thinking this. Thanks for the response and pics. Seeing pics is very helpful!
