Watching a Richard Thompson living room concert on youtube.
Mmmmmmm.
I helped my daughter & fiance build some Ikea furniture for their new apt this weekend. Admiring our work from the couch, she looked at the TV console and said, "Our kids won't know what those holes in the back of the cabinet are for - wires between boxes will be history by then!" That reminded me of a time - years ago - when a 10 year old asked me what was that funny machine spinning the black disk. I could actually explain how a turntable works to a 10 year old, who found it completely fascinating!
Which lead the fiance to ask me how old I was when I started listening to music. Oh man, I could write a book. A really boring book, but still...
Half an hour of reminiscing later I couldn't wait to throw on some Bowie. And, given that the only track he knows is "Under Pressure", to introduce him to this great great artist.
if you've forgotten how good an album Songs From The Big Chair is go do yourself a favor and remember. packed back to back with incredible songs
same goes for seeds of love but that's better as just a full album, not as separate songs, if you know what I mean
For me it is Mirror Blue. Lots of great songs topped by "Beeswing" perfectly capturing a moment and lost love...

I enjoy comparing Adrian's theatrics to Tina's low-key style. Solid, steady, funky.
Concrete Blonde-'Bloodletting' is a phantastic album on a dreary afternoon post ride and mid-beer guacamole front porching-

A zoom meeting.
I'm currently still orbiting the world of Snarky Puppy. "We Like it Here" is definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard and the drumming of Larnell Lewis brought an energy level that I haven't heard on any of their other albums. My shop iPod is almost always set to random but I had to play the album a few times over the other day.

Another album I played through recently was Zappa's "Thingfish" I've always admired the level of childish absurdity in his music but also his willingness to "discuss" real societal issues through his music. Also, Ike Willis is a national treasure. Joe's Garage is another one of my top ten of all time.
This will make you a Tom Waits fan if you’re not already.

Robin Trower........... Long Misty Days.
Mike Herrera of MxPx has been doing these live-streams every Friday from his casa in Waco, TX. And I’m pretty much obsessed.
And what got me hooked onto that was Goldfinger’s quarantine recording of Superman.

Watch Post Malone's Nirvana Tribute Concert for COVID-19 Relief - Rolling Stone
This was really, really good. And I’m saying that as someone that has never been a big fan of Nirvana, nor Post Malone.
