Oh my. I want to do that.
Nice work Garro!
I spent two days last week out off Beavertail, RI stalking blues on fly and picking up the occasional bottom feeder. Second day was 40's and raining and all I had was a ski shell over a sweater and cotton pants. AWESOME time.

Gone four days - Garro.
Dude that is sick sick sick.
Nothing quite like motoring along at 30mph in a steady rain, no windshield on the boat, and having the rain pelt your jacket, bead off, and roll down to soak your crotch.
I don't think I'd even bother cooking that trout. Looks incredible. I was snacking on Atlantic Herring all day since I didn't have any breakfast and all we had on board was a bag of pretzels.
I may have posted this before but Karen and I spent about a week there staying up on the south rim and walking the trails one February. We met two guys with what looked like and turned out to be fishing rods sticking out of their packs. I asked what they were fishing for... "Rainbows"... I said really? and they said "as big as your leg". I had to reach out and grasp Karen's shoulder, the world swam before my eyes.
Lleftover. Send to: rowdyhillrambler algood, tn. Care of general mail, thanks in advance
Attachment 47438Who's going creek boatin' and bass fishin' in the desert on Sunday?
This Guy!
STOKED.

If i leave now, i can be there by Sunday.. Late evening or so. I would appreciate you waiting, thanks in advance. xxoxxoox rowdy
Really. That rainbow is beautiful.. Color me totally jealous.
Pretty good day out, forgot my camera but I'll see if the Mrs got any shots - water was a little cold but I got 8 fish, a mixed bag of both Smallies & LMB's
Damn good fun!

Attachment 47682We have to have some other fishermen here, huh?
This is a blast - Duckies (inflatable kayaks) and Med. size bass on light tackle.

This thread is about to put me in the "whats chapping your ass thread." My ass is in fact chapped, that i am not there catching fish, or at least trying.. MAD!! Seriously, i love fishing. I love everything about it. To me it is like riding bicycles. I would rather be fishing or riding, no matter what, than doing anything at work..
Garro, i do not know you... But, i feel like if i ever make it your way, we know each other.
Steve,
In Florida we call that size bass bait. You need to hook up with Ronnie E. and hit some of the phosphate pits here in Central Florida.
Mike
Attachment 47743Yeah, it's a 10' wide creek.......not bad for the back yard - You go fishing yourself?
If you just want size then here you can go yank those God-Damn striped bass out of the lower Colorado or lake powell - they get 40lb-ers pretty common, and I can gank in 30" pike all day seven miles away (we have so many they tell you to throw them on the shore if you want) but I'm not a huse pike fan, either.
Basically, I'm just stoked to catch fish.
We're not comparing penises, just talking fishin' - fish for yourself and you're always happy........
But........if I'm going for big fish I go for trout........but, it's tedious & I know few people patient enough to want to go with to catch the big ones, but if you ever want to go.........
- Garro.
Yeah, just pulling your chain! Any
fishing is better than none. I would love to try some your style fishing someday.
Mike
Fished a lot as a kid, but haven't been in years. Every winter the state stocks some trout somewhere around here. This year they stocked them in a small pond at the State Park where I do a lot of riding. Went out his morning and caught a few. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to fish. Is it dinner time yet?

They're nothing to brag about size wise, but I hope they taste good.

Quit counting, but here is a SM bass for a visual - bronze, red eyes, mouth does not extend beyond eye.
And, a 20" LM - greener, mouth extends beyon eye = big as a paddleblade!
Also floated right beneath this Blackhawk - a badass predator.
Amazing day of fishin'

Attachment 53380It's so beautiful out right now!

Thanks for the pics and words holy cow I'm green with envy.
We're in NE Texas now, the lakes are low so there's no good dock fishing. I've got to make friends with someone who has a boat. I have a shimaNo Bantam reel, shimaNo>Campy in fishing gear.
Man o' man! Went fishing with the 5 year old gal last Sunday, Easter. Caught 7 fish, in 7 cast.!!! Now she thinks that is the way it is supposed to be.. She went camping with my wifes, brother this weekend. They fished for 20 minutes and not a nibble.. She told him, "My dad catches a fish every time," he will never live that down.........
Yep. Took my kids fishing last week. Guess who didn't catch anything? I'm still being reminded.
I've also just been told of a few out of the way creeks that are yielding some big bass. Need to get myself a floatation device of some sort to navigate the creeks though. All of them surrounded by private property.
Any Westchester/Fairfield salonistas who like fishing, get in touch. I'm thinking about getting a boat on a DEP reservoir this year, but I'm afraid I won't use it more than 10 weekends or so (cycling is still the #1 hobby). I'd be very interested in sharing a boat if someone is interested.

West bound and down!!! Be looking for a $6k bike on a $1k car. If it has Tennessee plates, it's me.!
Damn Steve. Like someone else said, stop friggin teasing us! Incredible landscape with awesome fish.
Yeah, alright....show us some more pictures.
What are these like in side to side stability ie. casting and angling with the fish? I can see somegoogled images showing white water use, does this point to a less stable shape or more stable. Also, is the inflatable aspect to allow packing in and out of more remote water ways? For me and where I live that would not be so much of an issue but can see the sense for further afield and for storage etc. Thanks
Here's some local style kayak fishing for you. By all means, watch the video.

Yep - they are for high stability and low water, and you can roll up a stack of them in just about anything - I think they are maybe 15 kilos total - easily tote-able with one hand.
Great boats!
A standard down here, you can sneak through 4" of water.
Great for fishing, I'm not the most Stable person :)

Attachment 53589Attachment 53588Attachment 53584Attachment 53585Attachment 53586Attachment 53587Man........fishin' was slow, way slow.
Caught a handfull of dinkers in the 10" range but nothing worth keeping at all.
No predatory birds yet where usually evey big rock has a GBH (great blue heron) and the skies were fillled with ospreys, kingfishers, eagles and mergansers on the water. Just not warmed up yet.
However, boating was awesome.
Paddling UP the Colorado is always a workout!

hot/cold/hot/wind/cold ???
Fish don't know what to do.
Some small bass, unlike last week which was gangbusters on nice ones - did catch this native roundtail, which is actually a minnow.
They pull like crazy - this one was stuffed with eggs.
Also a picture of my best catch ever, by far.
