The one I tried to photograph did (beginner's luck I guess), but it was under dense foliage on a cloudy day (not that sunlight piercing into the foliage would be any better).
As for something that really doesn’t sit still, barn swallows. I don’t get how they can ever eat enough to keep flying like that. Also, there are like 5-6 barn swallow nests on the outside wall of Taliesin. Unfortunately, i didn’t have my superzoom with me to capture one of the few times i’ve seen them sit tight.
I grew up on a Farm and the Swallows loved to torment Grey Cat (yes that was his name) he'd lay on his back with his murder mittens at the ready, and eventually he would realizes the futility of it all and retreat to the back porch for treats and scratches. I don't remember him ever catches one..baby bunnies well that's a tale best left untold.

I'm working on an essay for a history conference in September. The essay explores the quasi-sovereignty of the Crow Tribe. I had an appointment with a historian at the Crow Agency, and I arrived almost an hour early, so I walked around the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. I've been several times, and the Indian monument is incredible.

Nice
I read Philbrick's book on that battle recently.
Pretty hard to fathom.

The adder or northern viper (Vipera berus) is the only venomous snake indigenous to the UK. The last known human death from an adder bite in Britain was of a 5-year-old child in 1975. Pets and livestock are more susceptible. This is the first time I have managed to photograph this snake. Both our dogs had run over it before I spotted it and, even worse, they then both came back to see what I was looking at.

Dang! I would have reached down thinking @SlowPokePete lost some handlebar tape. Then screamed like a school girl.

Brake levers but no cables is an interesting choice …

Putting four past reigning Olympic Champs, all the while missing Kerr (or is she actually needed), is far from middling :)
